Book A Hotel

Which Marriott Bonvoy hotel is the best in London, England? Which is the best, downtown and at Heathrow and London airport? We have already reviewed the hotel with the best club lounges in London and the best Four Seasons in London, now we look at the best Marriott Bonvoy hotels in London.

Ritz-Carlton hotels are often some of the best Marriott Bonvoy hotels in an area. They also tend to offer the best club lounges in the city, but there is no Ritz-Carlton hotel in London. Instead, you have The Ritz, which isn’t part of Marriott Bonvoy hotels at all. Interestingly, you can get free upgrades and VIP benefits at the Ritz if you book it via our luxury travel concierge if you decide this is the hotel for you.

There is also the EDITION London, which can be found on the Ritz-Carlton website and is this is one of the best Marriott Bonvoy hotels in London. Beyond these two properties, there’s plenty of choice within the Marriott brand in London, including top brands like the Luxury Collection, EDITION, St Regis, W Hotels, and JW Marriott, as well as mid-range brands like their Autograph Collection, Renaissance, Sheraton, Le Meridien, Design Hotels and their Westin collections.

1. Bulgari Hotel London

Bvlgari Hotel London is located in the heart of central London’s most prestigious area, Knightsbridge, steps away from Harrods, Hyde Park, and Kensington’s museums. The 85 rooms and suites, with exquisite Italian detailing throughout, are considered among the city’s best. I can personally vouch for the excellence of a Bulgari hotel, having recently returned for their fantastic flagship hotel in Milan.

The hotel features exceptional facilities, including the stunning 24,000 ft² Bulgari Spa, spread over two floors with an 82-foot-long swimming pool. Sette restaurant brings authentic Italian food from the heart of Manhattan with its own inimitable flair.

Operating independently but housed on the ground floor of Bvlgari Hotel London, it is the first London restaurant for LDV Hospitality, the owner of the chic modern Italian restaurant concept Scarpetta.

Sette continues the Scarpetta tradition of sourcing excellent seasonal, local ingredients and crafting freshly baked bread and its famous homemade pasta daily, including the renowned Scarpetta classic – spaghetti with tomato and basil. The restaurant, accessed through its own entrance at 4 Knightsbridge Green, serves lunch and dinner daily. Hotel guests enjoy direct access to Sette from the Lobby, with daily breakfast served in the restaurant.

Downstairs, Nolita Social is the new after-hours hangout bar, bringing the energy of ‘the New York night’ to London with a heady mix of crafted cocktails, live music, and DJs, creating a space perfect for light-hearted revelry in Knightsbridge.

Which Bulgari (or Bvlgari) hotel is the best in the world? The best Bulgari hotels offer a similar level of luxury to the best Four Seasons hotels in the world. A big difference is that all Bulgari hotel stays will earn you Marriott Bonvoy points, which is a major advantage over Four Seasons hotels as Four Seasons hotels have no loyalty rewards.

2. JW Marriott Grosvenor House London

JW Marriott Grosvenor House London is located on Park Lane in Central London, with a distinguished setting within the upscale neighborhood of Mayfair. Park Lane is just moments from Hyde Park, Oxford Street, Buckingham Palace, and more.

Elegant rooms and suites feature plush pillowtop beds, marble bathrooms, and high-speed Wi-Fi access. Savor delicious dining at JW Steakhouse or gather with friends for cocktails at Red Bar and the Bourbon Bar. Partake in a 5-star luxury afternoon tea in the Park Room and then work it off in the modern fitness center.

The JW Marriott Grosvenor House London club lounge is particularly excellent here. The Grosvenor House’s lounge entrance is on the ground floor, reached by following some stairs adjacent to the hotel’s reception area.

Climb up the marble staircase and enter through a keyed glass door to reach this spacious lounge. After entry, your eyes are immediately drawn to an attractive floor-to-ceiling media wall showing colorful videos shot in Hyde Park.

To your right sits a welcoming concierge, beyond which the lounge opens up to reveal some private meeting rooms to the left and two large communal lounges to the right, the latter of which backs onto the food and drinks offering.

The natural creams and oatmeals make the lounge feel relaxing. Plentiful sofa-style seats arranged in groups of 2 to 6 offer guests plenty of room to relax. There is also a shared dining table area for about ten guests.

The lighting is subtle but not dim. Mirrors, glasswork, and ornaments are strategically placed to accentuate the space and form wall coverings and divisions. A fireplace is lit throughout the day, and the temperature is a comfortable 23°C.

As part of our guide to the best hotel club and executive lounges in London, I am writing a review of the renovated, (in late 2014), and extended executive lounge at the Grosvenor House, a JW Marriott hotel, on Park Lane, right in the center of London. The entrance to the Grosvenor House's lounge is on the ground floor, reached by following some stairs adjacent to the hotel's reception area. Climb the marble staircase and enter through a keyed glass door to reach this spacious lounge.

Although this lounge does not have windows, the interior design is so pleasing that I didn’t notice the lack of natural light. One unusual feature is the slight rumble of tube trains passing below occasionally, reminding guests that they’re in the heart of London.

The food offering in the executive lounge at the JW Marriott, London, is generous. The morning spread includes scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, sausages, cereal, and hot porridge. The main island area showcases a large array of pastries, fruit and charcuterie, and cheeses.

Also on offer are Actimel drinks, yogurts, juices, and coffees. The breakfast is self-service, but there is plenty of room, and collecting the food is enjoyable.

The food offering remains generous throughout the day, with cakes, cookies, and scones with jam and cream (see pictures below). I can recommend the lemon drizzle cake – it is good enough to merit a second slice. There is also an all-day snack offering of nuts, smarties, sweeties, and crisps.

In the evening, a filling array of meal choices are on offer. For example, on Friday night, the food included a tasty vegetable noodle dish in soy sauce, lamb curry with rice, a cold noodle salad, cheeses, bread, and crackers, followed by some slices of deliciously good cake about an hour later.

Throughout the day, there is a large selection of teas, coffees, plenty of still and sparkling water, Britvic juices, and Pepsi. There is an additional selection of wines, champagne, and bottles of Stella Artois in the evening. All the alcoholic drinks are free and were still available at 9:30 pm, unlike other executive lounges in London that limit drinks to very early happy hour times.

The lounge at the JW Grosvenor House falls in my top 3 best executive lounges in London, alongside that of the Langham London and the Intercontinental Park Lane lounge. The JW lounge’s advantage over its competition is that you can gain access purely because of your Marriott status (free access is gained if you hold Gold or Platinum status). To access the executive lounges of the Intercontinental and Langham, you have to pay for a high-end room or pay an additional fee to gain access, regardless of your status.

Book a stay here with our luxury travel concierge, and you will get extra free benefits. You will also get all your usual Marriott Bonvoy points and status benefits if you book with us.

3. Sheraton Grand London Park Lane

Since throwing open their doors during the glamour of the 1920s, the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane remains a true expression of Mayfair’s grandeur. This celebrated art deco address boasts unrivaled views of Green Park with connections to London’s historic landmarks.

Our personal visit to the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane showcased just how well located this historic hotel is, on Piccadilly overlooking Green Park, which borders Buckingham Palace with its famous Mall avenue (which the Queen looks over on big events).

This area of London is, in fact, my favorite due to its proximity to Knightsbridge and Regent Street for shopping. In Knightsbridge, you will find Harrods and Harvey Nics. In the other direction, you will find the Apple store and TopShop on Regent Street and Oxford Street. In front of the hotel is Green Park, and Hyde Park runs along Park Lane to the west of the hotel. Both are perfect for a stroll.

I reviewed the Sheraton Grand Park Lane London Club Lounge during my most recent stay. It features in my review of the best club lounges in London and I have reviewed the Sheraton Grand Park Lane separately. The Sheraton Grand Club Lounge can be found just to the right of the foyer of the Sheraton Grand at the back of the hotel by the Brick street entrance. It is split into two lounges plus a meeting room with a large conference table and chairs. The color scheme is autumnal, with browns and burnt reds.

The Sheraton Grand Park Lane ticks all the boxes. It has a great location, with large rooms, a club lounge, and a nice bar area. It was recently refurbished, so the decor is immaculate. The glitzy Art Deco foyer runs from one end of the hotel to the other. Here, you will find the stylish bar for evening drinks and the afternoon tea lounge where a harp player plays. This is a comfortable area for drinks or for holding a meeting.

Off the main foyer with the bar area is an Italian restaurant, where you can enjoy a delicious and extensive breakfast in the morning and an Italian meal in the evening. This is a nice rustic space with views out to the street at one end. The breakfast is delicious and extensive, with everything and anything you could want.

We booked a Club Room, and I was delighted by its size. We had a camp bed in the room for my son, and there was still plenty of space. The bathroom was also huge, and there was a walk-in wardrobe too.

The Club floor, where the Club rooms are located, is at the top of the building. I have to praise the hotel for the comfortable bed and the lack of noise, which is a major problem at so many hotels in London. You are pretty much guaranteed a good night’s sleep at the Sheraton Grand Park Lane, particularly if you request a high floor.

I particularly appreciated the generous replenishment of complimentary water in the room and the bedtime goodies (chocolate and cookies) delivered every night. Little touches like this do make a difference!

The club lounge at Sheraton Grand London Park Lane is also very good, although lacking in any view at all. The Grand Club Lounge can be found just to the right of the foyer at the back of the hotel by the Brick Street entrance. It is split into two lounges plus a meeting room with a large conference table and chairs.

The color scheme is autumnal, with browns and burnt reds. There is no view, as it sits at the base of the building, so the windows offering natural light are curtained with nets. There are plenty of comfy tables and chairs, booths with small sofas, and a computer area with two computers and a printer within the lounge. At one end is a large sofa in front of a TV that would be ideal for kids to watch cartoons or adults to watch a sports event. While we were there, this area remained unoccupied.

This lounge provides everything you could possibly need from a club lounge, including plenty of seating. It was never full. Kind staff bring you drinks and nibbles, breakfast, afternoon tea, evening light bites, and a place to escape to do work or relax outside your room.

The breakfast offering includes warm pancakes and eggs benedict in heater trays. Cereal, jams, loaves, and buns could be toasted with some fruit and yogurt. There was also a tray of smoked fish and cold continental meats. Drinks include an array of juices, coffees, and teas.

The spread is nowhere near as extensive as the buffet in the main restaurant but is more than sufficient as long as you are happy with poached eggs. There were no alternate egg options or warm sausages or bacon when we were visiting, but when we asked the staff, they brought us some scrambled eggs from the main restaurant for my son, so there seemed to be some flexibility on what you could request within reason, which is a very nice touch.

Afternoon tea is also offered in the lounge, which is a small selection of tasty patisseries and cakes along with drinks. In the evening, there are light bits (which we did not try) and plenty of alcoholic options (beers and wines).

Overall, this lounge is a nice space to waste an hour or two and offers enough food to keep hunger at bay. You can grab a complimentary beer or glass of wine in the Club Lounge, but I felt that the central foyer of the hotel, with its impressive and stylish bar area and live music (a harp player when we were staying in the hotel), was a more lively and enjoyable place to spend the evenings.

Located in the very heart of Mayfair, London, in the south of England, you’ll find a historic gem of a hotel, the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane. I adore the sophistication and charm of this area of London and so was delighted to spend a weekend there recently and enjoy a return to the glamour of the 1920s. The Sheraton Grand London Park Lane really does have everything I look for in a London hotel: that fantastic location, stunning décor (Art Deco is a huge favorite of mine), a club lounge, and impeccable service.

4. London EDITION

As mentioned above, London EDITION can be found on the Ritz-Carlton website and is part of Marriott Bonvoy. This luxury Marriott Bonvoy hotel in London is located in a historic building on the outskirts of Soho, just moments from Mayfair and Covent Garden.

This 5-star hotel embodies the boutique elegance and quiet confidence that is the cornerstone of Ian Schrager’s philosophy. Immaculately appointed rooms and suites boast a nautical theme, as well as distinctive design accents, complimentary Wi-Fi access, rainforest showers, and modern technology.

Savor seasonal British specialties at Berners Tavern, Michelin-starred chef Jason Atherton’s stylish restaurant, which features a private dining room for special occasions. You can also unwind with a drink at the modern Lobby Bar and the reservations-only Punch Room.

If you’re planning a business or social occasion in Soho, you’ll appreciate their adaptable venues and superb catering services. Should you wish to explore beyond the hotel, the best of London is at your fingertips.

5. The St Regis London

London is an interesting destination as there is currently no Ritz-Carlton or St. Regis in London. There’s a “Ritz” hotel, but this is not related in any way to the Ritz-Carlton brand.

The good news is that the St Regis London will soon open after a £90 million redevelopment of the Westbury Mayfair Hotel. The Westbury Mayfair Hotel is a former Luxury Collection hotel located on the corner of Bond Street and Conduit Street.

Louis Vuitton, Vivienne Westwood, Burberry, and Hermes are all a stone’s throw away. The St. Regis London is expected to open in 2023 with 196 rooms and suites. Designs are by Richmond International, which also worked on The Langham London and Four Seasons Trinity Square which are both stunning properties.

A stone’s throw away from graceful Hyde Park and Buckingham Palace, this iconic circular tower houses 271 accommodations boasting handcrafted furnishings and marble bathrooms. Suites include the distinguished service of the Park Tower Butler as well as breathtaking skyline views spanning 360 degrees.

9. St. Pancras Renaissance

The St. Pancras Renaissance is one of London’s premier Marriott subsidiary hotels, featuring an executive club lounge. While the lounge has merits, it’s worth noting that the hotel is a considerable distance from major tourist attractions if you prefer exploring on foot.

Renowned for its stunning Victorian architecture, St. Pancras station gained cinematic fame through its portrayal of Platform Nine and Three-Quarters in the Harry Potter series. The station’s interior has undergone a thoughtful modernization, now serving as St. Pancras International, the departure point for the Eurostar to Paris. Nestled within these historic walls lies the St. Pancras Renaissance hotel, comprising two distinct wings: the contemporary Barlow wing and the historic Chambers wing.

Exclusive to Chambers wing guests, the Chambers Club lounge offers a complimentary haven, accessible to Titanium Marriott Bonvoy elite members. While included in the Chambers wing’s premium price, access for Barlow wing guests is limited to Marriott Titanium and Ambassador elite members. Platinum elites, however, do not receive complimentary lounge access but are instead treated to complimentary breakfast at the hotel restaurant.

For enthusiasts of travel and architecture, the hotel offers a unique treat with inward-facing rooms overlooking the station platforms, providing captivating views of train arrivals and departures as well as the bustling activity below.

While ideally situated for Eurostar travelers, the hotel’s location may not be as convenient for exploring London’s tourist attractions or leisurely strolls through its parks or along the River Thames, necessitating the use of public transportation.

10. Bankside Hotel Autograph Collection

Bankside Hotel Autograph Collection is a Marriott Bonvoy Rewards Category 6 independent hotel set on the culturally vibrant South Bank London.

This intimate hotel, with 161 bedrooms including seven suites, feels like home thanks to the use of hand-picked furnishings, specially commissioned artworks, and friendly, intelligent service.

The downside of this hotel is the location, which is some distance from the main shopping sites. You will most likely need to take the tube to get around. This hotel does, however, have advantages, including Art Yard Bar & Kitchen, a library, and an outside terrace. There are four meeting & event spaces, including Whitebox, a blank canvas for guests to create their own setting.

Located across from the City, just a four-minute walk to Southwark and Blackfriars stations, you have access across the capital. Waterloo station is less than 10 mins walk. 12. London Heathrow Marriott Hotel

If you’re flying out of London Heathrow Airport, you might want to consider the London Heathrow Marriott Hotel. It’s not a patch on the central London hotels, so it should be used as an airport hotel rather than a base. Modern guest rooms offer sumptuous bedding, soundproof windows, a Smart TV with plug-in technology, and high-speed Wi-Fi access, while upgraded suites provide extra space and access to the exclusive M Club Lounge.

Carluccio’s is the hotel’s on-site Italian restaurant, plus there’s a well-equipped fitness center and a heated indoor pool. This is a solid airport hotel choice with a location just moments from Heathrow Airport.
