Book A Hotel

Which hotel has the best Executive Club or Concierge Lounge in Thailand? We have already reviewed the hotel with the best club lounges in Bangkok, the best hotel club lounges in Phuket, the best hotel club lounges in Koh Samui, now we look at the best hotels with executive lounges in the whole of Thailand.

Luxury hotels in Thailand include the Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel, Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok, The St. Regis Bangkok, The Peninsula Bangkok, The Siam, The Park Hyatt Bangkok, and Four Seasons Bangkok At Chao Phraya River. There’s plenty of choice within the Marriott brand within Thailand, including top brands like the Luxury Collection, EDITION, St Regis, W Hotels, and JW Marriott, as well as mid-range brands like their Autograph Collection, Renaissance, Sheraton, Le Meridien, Design Hotels, and their Westin collections.

1. InterContinental Koh Samui

Probably my favorite club lounge in the whole of Thailand is the executive lounge at the InterContinental Koh Samui, which also has the best club lounge on the island of Koh Samui. In fact, InterContinental hotels are often the best Club lounges in a city. Have a read of our review of the InterContinental Club lounge in London to see how good they get!

Koh Samui is a popular tourist destination just over an hour away from the busy capital of Bangkok. The resort sits atop a cliff amidst coconut plantations and has 300 meters of its own beachfrontage along the scenic coast of Taling Ngam. The resort is renowned for incredible sunsets and breathtaking ocean views, set across 22 acres of luscious tropical gardens to the quiet, unspoiled, white sandy beachfront.

InterContinental Koh Samui Resort is home to 79 rooms, suites, and villas, which sit on a clifftop and descend through tropical gardens to a private 180-meter white sand beach.

The resort affords magnificent views across the Gulf of Thailand, the famous Five Islands, and Ang Thong National Marine Park. No wonder it is featured in the New York Times bestselling book ‘1000 Places to See Before You Die’.

There are 170 InterContinental Hotels & Resorts in major global cities such as London, Paris, New York, and Tokyo, including 50 in Asia Pacific. InterContinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Resort will join InterContinental Hua Hin Resort also in Thailand, which opened in 2009.

Club InterContinental at InterContinental Koh Samui offers a brilliant club lounge with a personalized butler and concierge service, complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea, and sunset cocktails & canapés on the edge of the beach.

The 24/7 Club InterContinental lounge is very chic, and you can enjoy complimentary food and drink along with a selection of daily local and international newspapers and lifestyle publications. You get unparalleled panoramic ocean views paired with incredible service in your tropical paradise.

Club guests can indulge in a range of complimentary food and beverage options: gourmet breakfast in the lounge, light refreshments, such as coffees, teas, soft drinks, mineral water, juices, and snacks, then afternoon tea and evening cocktails and canapés in the lounge with lots and lots of delicious canapés. The evening buffet is lots of small dishes that you can enjoy with sublime cocktails while watching the most spectacular sunset in Samui.

A celebration of exclusivity and style, Club InterContinental® offers guests an elevated level of hospitality through luxurious accommodation and personalized services.

Club InterContinental benefits include a choice of two complimentary breakfast venues. Enjoy a gourmet breakfast with a set menu crafted by our executive chef in the Club InterContinental Lounge or a wide variety of international and local breakfast specialties in buffet style at the Amber Restaurant.

Benefits also include complimentary access to the Club InterContinental lounge, open from 7:00 am – 10:00 pm. Amenities include light refreshments and non-alcoholic beverages. Serene Afternoon Tea with freshly made sweet and savory treats are paired with a discerning range of premium Twining tea blends, available in the early afternoon. A Sunset Evening Cocktail including Premium wines selected from our Exclusive Sommelier, classic cocktails, sparkling wine, and a carefully selected range of snacks and canapés prepared by our Executive Chef are available in the early evening.

Additional Benefits include:

  • An additional invited (non-registered) guest of yours is welcome to experience Club InterContinental Lounge for breakfast, afternoon tea, or evening cocktail at no charge

2. InterContinental Phuket Resort

At number two is another InterContinental. InterContinental Phuket has one of the best club lounges on the island of Phuket.

InterContinental Phuket Resort features stunning vistas of the sparkling Andaman Sea and the white sand of Kamala Beach. Each of the 221 exquisite rooms and villas is meticulously curated and blends Thai tradition with contemporary design. Locally inspired culinary delights, holistic wellness journeys, and bespoke excursions all combine to offer a unique Phuket experience.

InterContinental Phuket Resort is located on Kamala Beach, between Millionaire’s Mile and the Amanpuri headland, one of the island’s most popular destinations and perfect for travelers looking for a relaxing and luxurious getaway.

This well-enclosed bay and fishing village situated off the west coast of Thailand in the Andaman Sea is surrounded by forested hills and is one of Phuket’s most beautiful places. Kamala Beach is known for its expansive white sands and crystal clear waters, providing travelers with the choice of both tranquillity and exclusivity with easy access to Phuket’s vibrant nightlife, with the popular Patong Town just a short drive away, as well as the Phuket International Airport.

The InterContinental Phuket Resort will be the sixth IHG property in the Greater Phuket area and the 19th IHG property in Thailand. It comprises a mix of villas and hotel rooms, with unobstructed views of the glittering Andaman Sea, and is surrounded by forests of pine trees.

Guests will have direct beach access, experience an exquisite gastronomic adventure with the resort’s F&B offerings, and enjoy breath-taking views from the swimming pool, an uncompromising spa, the Club InterContinental, the Fitness Centre, and the Kids’ Club. Designed as a complete leisure destination, the resort is also for honeymoons as well as families with kids and has an exceptional ability to cater to weddings and meeting functions.

Club InterContinental offers a brilliant club lounge with its own private pool, personalized butler and concierge service, complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea, and sunset cocktails & canapés, located right on the beach.

The 24/7 Club InterContinental lounge is very chic, and you can enjoy the complimentary food and drink along with a selection of daily local and international newspapers and lifestyle publications.

The evening buffet is lots of small dishes.

3. Hyatt Regency Phuket Resort

Another excellent lounge in a wonderful resort is the lounge at the Hyatt Regency Phuket which offers beautiful views overlooking Kamala Cove at the southern end of Kamala Beach and is situated on a steep jungle-covered hillside.

The hillside location is a good and a bad thing. It is hard work walking up the hill, but this climb is also good exercise! If you wait for the golf buggy to ferry you about the resort, the wait can be lengthy. The Hyatt Regency Phuket is around half an hour’s drive ($25 USD in a taxi) ride from Phuket International Airport (HKT).

It is also worth noting that the Hyatt Regency Phuket is not directly situated on a beach. Whilst you have wonderful pools at this Hyatt, you need to take the minibus to the beach, so it is not convenient if you have kids and want to paddle. By contrast, the Grand Hyatt Bali, which features our best club lounges in Bali, is a similar price in both cash and World of Hyatt points and is right on the beach.

The 201 rooms at Hyatt Regency Phuket are nicely furnished with different layouts. Each one has a balcony or an extremely private terrace, and most have unobstructed views of the glittering Andaman Sea and its spectacular tropical sunsets. There are also 40 rooms with outdoor private plunge pools or Jacuzzis, and all rooms have marble bathrooms featuring a dual basin and a separate toilet.

One of the best things about this property is the amazing Regency Club lounge, which many consider the best Regency Club in the world and well worth paying to upgrade in either points or miles. If you are a Globalist, you get this lounge access for free.

It is a large club lounge and has a beautiful private and exclusive infinity pool for club guests overlooking the bay. You can laze with a complimentary cocktail and take in the view as the sun sets over this private club pool!

Within this club lounge, you get a complimentary breakfast with hot and cold items and made-to-order eggs and omelets. Evening hors d’oeuvres change every day, and there is enough food to piece together a full meal. There is a chef station outside serving hot food, generally rice, and rotating dishes such as Thai chicken curry or various meat. There is a small selection of western desserts. With the evening hors d’oeuvres, the spirits, wine, and beer are also free.

It is worth mentioning that the buffet breakfast at the Pool House is excellent and better than the breakfast in the club lounge, with a good selection of international hot and cold items and juices. If you are a Globalist, this breakfast is complimentary and is a better choice than the club lounge breakfast. Otherwise, it costs around $20 USD per person if it is not included in your rate.

The Hyatt Regency has the largest pool in Phuket, surrounded by loungers or comfy cabanas overlooking the sea. There is also a spa and an unimpressive fitness center along with free, fast Wi-Fi and a Camp Hyatt Kids Club for children 4-12. A shuttle will take you to the nearby beaches of Kamala and Patong for a small fee. The latter can be very lively. If you are a fan, it is worth booking an excursion to James Bond Island.

As mentioned above, the one thing that this hotel is missing is a beach. Kamala Beach is a reasonable non-private beach within walking distance from the hotel, but as there is no sidewalk along the road and motorbikes fly along the road at great speed, so it is not an easy walk. Alternatively, the hotel has a shuttle to take you there a few times per day.

4. Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel

Anantara Hotel in Bangkok has a brilliant executive club concierge lounge that is only placed below the resorts above because brilliant as it is, this hotel is not a resort by the sea, so if you are looking for a vacation, you should pick the resorts in positions 1 to 3.

However, if you are staying in Bangkok, you should definitely consider this fabulous hotel if you are searching for an executive club lounge. Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel & Spa contains 354 guestrooms, seven restaurants and bars, a spa, a gym, an outdoor swimming pool, a ballroom seating up to 550 and extensive meeting and event rooms. It is located in Rajadamri in the center of Bangkok and opened in 1978 as a Peninsula hotel before being rebranded as a Four Seasons in 2003 and then an Anantara in 2015.

Along with the Atheene Hotel below, this hotel offers the two best executive club lounges across all the luxury hotels in Bangkok. There is a new Four Seasons Bangkok due to open imminently at Chao Phraya River. If this also launches with a club lounge, then there will be further competition for the top spot.

All luxury accommodations at Anantara Siam Bangkok were fully refurbished in 2017, so you can be confident that you will experience a classy stay with elegant furnishings and signature Thai touches. Enjoy neighborhood views while relaxing by the window or soaking in your marble bathtub.

This property is renowned for its indigenous experiences: early-morning alms given by monks or Shopping Gurus, who take you on an exclusive, personalized excursion. The hotel offers world-class dining, including Royal Thai, Italian, Japanese, Steakhouse, and Aqua Bar. The Anantara Spa is where ancient remedies and modern techniques soothe the soul.

The comfy club lounge at the Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel tends to be a step above the best, in line with the luxury level of this hotel. You gain access to Kasara Executive privileges if you stay in the hotel’s suite categories or Garden Terrace Rooms. Described as “ideal for business travelers as well as leisure guests seeking extra luxuries”, the Kasara Executive Lounge at this Bangkok hotel features a variety of privileges, from express check-in and check-out to complimentary use of private meeting rooms.

The lounge also offers dining options, including a daily buffet breakfast at the Kasara Executive Lounge, a welcome refreshment upon arrival, a coffee/ tea with a wake-up call, pre-dinner canapés in the evening, along with drinks. For the rest of the day, all-day snacks and refreshments are available.

Additional club lounge features include complimentary use of one of three private meeting rooms for one hour per stay (THB 1,000++ for each additional hour), two pieces of garment pressing per room per day, unlimited local telephone calls, and no surcharge for credit card access calls, Hi-Speed in-room Wi-Fi, use of business center facilities from 6:00 am – 11:00 pm and access to an extensive library with the latest periodicals, newspapers, and reference materials.

5. Atheene Hotel, A Luxury Collection of Hotel

Atheene Hotel is a member of the Luxury Collection of Hotels, which is part of the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty program. The Royal Club Lounge here (pictured above) sits joint first with the Anantara as the best executive club lounge in Bangkok.

This lounge offers club room and suite guests an exclusive enclave where they may enjoy a fresh cup of coffee or tea, check emails with complimentary High-Speed Internet Access, conduct a business meeting in the private boardroom, watch multiple flat-screen televisions, or simply relax over a glass of wine. A private meeting room with a long conference table, modern leather armchairs, and the latest audiovisual equipment is available on a complimentary basis for up to two hours.

Start your morning with a sampling from the delightful continental breakfast buffet. Enjoy a fresh cup of illy coffee or a soft drink during the day. In the afternoon, a formal High Tea is served with finger sandwiches and pastries. Or wind down over hors d’oeuvres and a selection of drinks from the open bar during evening drinks.

6. InterContinental Bangkok

Another InterContinental makes it into our top 10 best list, and for good reason. These lounges are fabulous! The InterContinental Bangkok has a Club Intercontinental executive lounge which is one of our favorite brands of the club lounge. Just take a look at the Club InterContinental in London!

You really do get special treatment here. 48 hours before your expected arrival, the Club InterContinental manager will contact you to address any needs and preferences you may have ahead of your stay. On arrival at the hotel, you’ll be personally greeted and escorted to the Club InterContinental’s check-in lounge.

If you’ve booked a transfer from the airport, the InterContinental airport concierge will even welcome you on arrival. You’ll also be provided with a tablet pre-loaded with hotel and local information.

The Club InterContinental Lounge, on level 37, comprises separate areas for business discussion and relaxation as well as light dining and drinks, all with outstanding views. A library of entertainment options is also available. Enjoy extensive breakfast options, table service, and complimentary afternoon tea, along with complimentary evening drinks and canapés. Club InterContinental hotel guests are welcome to invite a non-staying guest to join them for dining in the lounge at no additional charge. This is an unusual policy and extremely welcome for guests holding business meetings.

Club InterContinental rooms are also a step above the rest and offer extra space to relax as well as outstanding views. You’ll likewise enjoy benefits, including complimentary pressing service, Wi-Fi and local calls at no charge, and late check-out (subject to availability).

Club InterContinental guests traveling with children under 12 are invited to enjoy happy hour at Balcony Lounge, featuring a special family set-up.

7. Siam Kempinski Bangkok

This stylish club lounge at the Siam Kempinski Bangkok is located on the 17th floor and has a wonderful atmosphere with floor to ceiling windows to enjoy the skyline views. To gain access, you need to be staying on the Executive Floors.

This Kempinski Executive Lounge offers the ultimate facilities and services, making the trip an ultra-special one. Services include personalized check-in and check-out, secretarial services, complimentary food, and beverages: breakfast, lunch snacks, afternoon tea, evening light meals, as well as selected alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Meeting rooms and private computer stations are available.

8. Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok

The Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok club level is also worth paying the upgrade cost. This hotel is well located near the Erawan, Central, and Paragon areas of Bangkok, which is useful, given that temperatures can reach a high of 38 degrees. However, the hotel is really large, so the service tends to be rather impersonal, which reflects on your overall experience at this hotel.

On the club level, you feel special again in their hotel-within-a-hotel environment. This lounge has a great view and is configured much like a restaurant, with lots of dining tables and chairs in booths. Rooms on the club level and the regular rooms are all of a decent standard, although club rooms tend to be larger. Whilst the lounge is not desperately stylish, but it has been decorated in a standard Hyatt style, which is pleasing rather than mind-blowing. You get a complimentary breakfast consisting of plenty of fruit, smoked salmon, meats and cheeses, yogurts, juices, bread, muffins, pastries, and cereals. There is also an omelet bar, salad bar, juice bar, and coffee station.

The Grand Club gets pretty crowded during the evening cocktails, so be sure to pop in early to get a nice seat. You get light canapés (not really sufficient for dinner) and some super little custardy, chocolatey desserts in glass cups. The personalized club-level concierge in the lounge always bothers to recognize and greet guests, and this kind of special treatment will keep you coming back. The other super thing about this hotel is the beautiful pool with a large decked terrace and comfy padded wooden loungers, which offer the perfect place to relax and escape from frenetic Bangkok.

Whilst this is not the best club lounge in Bangkok, we feel that for the money, this hotel offers good value with a good quality lounge. To be honest, there isn’t a great deal to choose between this lounge, the JW Marriott lounge, and the Sofitel lounge, so it’s worth working out which is the cheapest before making your final decision.

9. So Sofitel Bangkok

Inspired by Monsieur Christian Lacroix, Club Signature at So Sofitel Bangkok is an ultra-stylish and exclusive lounge. The ambiance reflects Lacroix’s design, with walls covered in imaginative patterns, rich texture, and vibrant colors, which seem to reflect the skyline as the sun goes down. An outdoor terrace tops this lounge off, so you can enjoy your drinks alfresco if the weather suits you.

Open daily from 6:00 am – 11:00 pm, located on the 25th floor, expect views, breakfast, complimentary all-day refreshments, afternoon tea, evening cocktails, laundry, late check-out, and priority booking, all with a splattering of French Joie De Vivre!

10. JW Marriott Bangkok

The JW Marriott Bangkok is a great place to earn and redeem your Marriott Bonvoy points. The hotel is the first stop on Sukhumvit Rd, the center of the city near Soi 2. This JW Marriott is a big hotel located near Nana’s nightlife and crowds. The hotel is stylish, in a Marriot-way, with comfy beds and good blackout curtains. The club lounge can be found on the 16th floor, and the entrance is decorated with pretty flower arrangements – a nice touch. Inside is an open kitchen, lots of dark wood, a light marble floor, and an outdoor terrace to enjoy a meal outside or for smokers to have a cigarette (which is not ideal for non-smokers who want some fresh air).

Breakfast includes an array of bread, croissants, and bagels, and there are loads of fruit and cereals. A real-life chef cooks made-to-order omelets (which meats preheated eggs that you will get in other lounges).

Each night, complimentary cocktails, including beer and wine, are available. A variety of hot food, as well as salads, cheeses, and desserts, are also available. Each night has a different theme of cuisine, e.g., Japanese with sushi. For each meal, you get more than two hot appetizers. You’ll find options like fish cakes, sushi, and sliders. This food is more than enough to fill you up, so you don’t need to head out for an extra evening meal.

The JW offering is comparable to the Grand Hyatt Erawan above and the Sofitel Sukhumvit. Still, it offers a better location and more spacious rooms, though the JW Marriott is not as new as the Sofitel or the Hyatt, so can look tatty in places.
