What are the 10 best men’s swim short brands in the world? Shorts will make you stand out by the pool. Shorts to see and be seen in? Whether you are planning to jet off on a sun-drenched holiday abroad or heading to the local pool, a seriously stylish pair of swim shorts is a wardrobe staple. From the fit to the fabrics to the details, today’s most stylish and comfortable swim shorts blend seamlessly with the rest of your wardrobe; ranging from nautical prints to classic solid color neutral pool-side trends, we have listed the 10 best swim shorts in the world.

1. Ripa Ripa

Born in Milan, Ripa and Ripa is the brainchild of an Oliviero and Anna Laura who found it difficult to find what they considered to be stylish swim shorts and they now produce some of the most stylish swim shorts in the world.

The Italians are, of course, known for their style, and these shorts showcase the best in Italian style. We just love the material, the finish, the look and the patterns on the high-quality fabric and My husband and son swear by these shorts as one of their top pool-side choices when we stay at magnificent luxury hotels.

Neither Anna nor Oliviero knew much about swimwear when they started this brand, but Oliviero had a good idea of how he wanted them to look, so they took a car and drove around Italy’s textile districts looking for someone who could make some swimwear. A few months later, they had boxes with over 500 shorts in them stacked at Anna’s flat in Navigli. All these swim shorts solved the sea-parachute problem.

Anna and Oliviero have many customers who buy three pairs of shorts every summer and send them pictures and Ripa & Ripa are now sold in some of the most up-market stores in Europe, like La Rinascente in Milan.

We love the fact that Ripa & Ripa is made in Italy, using small producers, from rope manufacturers to fabric printers. Each offers Italian passion and conviction that is passed on through their products. This means these swim shorts are of exceptional quality and, as mentioned above, don’t balloon in the water as they have a slick, glove-like fit, but are not too tight. They just offer the right amount of support and stiffness in the material to maintain their shape in the water.

Taking its name from the city’s famous Ripa di Porta Ticinese and Ripamonti where their co-founders spent most of their time, Ripa Ripa has redesigned the drawstring swim short for a tailored cut that offers sartorial detail, maximum comfort, and sophistication. This season, bold graphics meet the sunkissed hues of the Italian Coast in Ripa Ripa’s signature tailored swim trunks.

We adore their gorgeous Levante Verde swim shorts which are certain to turn heads with their geometric prints and comfortable, flattering fit. Made from soft, brushed fabric that is quick-drying and has a distinctive soft cotton-feel, these shorts feature tying-cord made from braided nautical rope and fine-mesh interlining. They are hand-crafted in Portici, Italy, and showcase the Ripa Ripa Medi-terranean chic style and are very reasonably priced at £98.00 GBP.

2. Ralph Lauren

My other top choice is Ralph Lauren which is perfect for seaside adventures. Ralph Lauren’s swim shorts add classic style to your poolside look. This is such a great designer brand and so easily recognizable. I dress my son in Ralph Lauren t-shirts and my husband looks great around the pool in his Ralph Lauren shorts with the classic pony logo on the side, that is, when he is not wearing his Ripa Ripa shorts. One wouldn’t want to suffer the shame of wearing two pair of the same shorts to the pool for 2 days in a row!

For swim shorts with a playful nautical theme, we like the ‘Sea Adventures Print’ swim shorts, priced at £75.00 GBP. Crafted from a fast-drying nylon fabric they feature an elasticated drawstring waistband and are finished with the signature Polo Pony motif. The shorts are perfect for holiday adventures and have an interior mesh brief for added comfort.

3. Vilebrequin

I have a Vilebrequin beach bag which I love and religiously take down the beach. It is always full of sand, which probably makes this handbag the happiest handbag in the world. But they specialize in swimwear, including some fabulous swim shorts for men. If you and your family love the beach, Vilebrequin has a lovely collection of ‘Father and Son’ shorts. On the slightly more expensive side at £185.00 GBP, the Crystal Turtle design shorts are fun, bold and lightweight. They even fold into the back zip fastening pocket to become a small bag, making them easy to pack away!

4. Tom Ford

Oh, Tom Ford, why did you leave Gucci. Gucci has never been the same. I got married in Tom Ford by Gucci (I’m afraid that gives away my age a little) and he remains one of the most stylish clothing brands and one of the best swim short brands. Ideal for the discerning gentleman, Tom Ford’s lightweight plain swim shorts combine luxury and quality, costing £280.00 GBP. Available in black or antique pink, these shorts feature stylish buckled waist tabs and gold-tone press studs that add an extra touch of class. A classic fit with side slits allows for plenty of room to move around.

5. Burberry

I mainly but my Burberry from the duty-free store at London’s Heathrow airport in Terminal 5, just near the entrance of the British Airways First Class Lounge along with their Galleries Business Class lounges in the terminal. one Expertly constructed from high-quality cotton, the ‘Check Drawcord’ swim shorts from Burberry provide the classic Burberry look. The carbon blue colored shorts are lovely and at £190.00 GBP they showcase the label’s luxury heritage with an all-over vintage check print and feature an elasticated waistband with a drawstring fastening and a wide leg.

6. Valentino

This flamboyant couture brand offers contemporary designs with a vivacious edge. We really like the ‘Japanese Pond’ print swim trunks from Valentino as they are bold and eye-catching. At £350.00 GBP, these shorts are on the more expensive side, however, the striking colors and elegant design make for a really trendy pair of swim trunks.

7. Gucci

Gucci is always one of the top brands in the world, be it handbags or shoes or swimwear, you really can’t go wrong with this brand if your pockets are deep enough. Gucci’s black, red and green GG star print swim shorts have been designed with exacting detail in Italy. Cut from a quick-drying fabric, this pair of shorts have an elasticated waistband and all-over star design. These are one of the higher-priced shorts at £350.00 GBP, but you‘ll be instantly recognizable sporting the infamous GG Supreme logo print.

8. Fedeli

Harrods is always one of the best places to shop for swim shorts in London and they feature a great range (although they lack our favorite brand Ripa Ripa). They do, however, feature Fedeli, which is one of the best swimwear brands in the world and is super stylish. The Fedeli octopus print design swim shorts are so cool! Moderately priced at £150.00 GBP, these shorts come in a range of colors and are delivered inside a clear waterproof pouch that can be used to store your personal items on the beach or by the pool.

9. Moncler

Moncler is an abbreviation of Monastier de Clermont, the Alpine village where the brand was founded. Their paisley swimming trunks feature an elasticated drawstring waist and side snap button pocket with silicone logo plaque. Priced at £270.00 GBP, these navy and black swim shorts are attractively decorated with the paisley printed pattern and logo appliqué.

10. Derek Rose

We think that the brightly colored red Maui printed swim trunks by Derek Rose are delightful. They remind us of days spent by the beach at some of the best hotels in Hawaii. Priced at £145.00 GBP, the design is hand-drawn and showcases a graphic print inspired by the Great Barrier Reef. Without compromising on comfort, they are designed for a slimmer fit and come with a water-resistant pouch to carry your cards and cash securely, and a really handy drawstring carry pouch.
