A United Airlines flight was forced to make an emergency landing this week after two of it’s cockpit screens went blank mid-air.

Pilots on flight 4390 believed they might lose them all if the flight continued on it’s journey to Houston from Knoxville.

Bearing in mind how reliant on technology planes are these days, a loss of all screens on board could have resulted in a tricky and possibly disastrous situation.

In a video posted to social media, the pilot says: “So you may be able to see we lost two of our screens.

“Now if we kept flying, we’d lose them all, eventually, because there’s not enough cooling.

“There is tremendous heat behind the screen.

“This dictates that we land as soon as possible because if we have to continue, we’d eventually be flying blind.”

ABC News reported that the flight landed safely in Dallas.
