A pilot was killed last Thursday evening, after a small twin-engine airplane crashed shortly after taking off from the runway of a small municipal airport in Southern California, according to reports.

The crash occurred just before 8:00 pm the Fullerton Municipal Airport, which is about 20 miles south of Los Angeles, according to Fox News.

Footage showed the plane engulfed in flames with firefighters trying to extinguish the flames,

This is a reminder that flying is not always safe, and even though commercial airliners tend to be regulated under more stringent safety rules than privately owned aircraft, I am always thankful when I land safely.
