I would consider NASA pilots to be some of the best and well-trained pilots in the world, but even for them, things don’t always go right.
This week a NASA jet wound up off the end of the runway in Houston after pilots reportedly lost control of the nose gear. There were no injuries and the jet ended up on the grass.

The NASA jet was among a number of planes that veered off the runway this week. In Russia, a Nordstar ATR-42 made a trip off the runway and ended up in deep snow.
Nordstar ATR-42 (VQ-BKN) made a runway excursion on landing Turukhansk Airport (UOTT), Krasnoyarsk, Russia with 23 people on board. The aircraft came to a stop in deep snow. High winds prevailed at the time. No one was hurt. Extent of damage is unknown. https://t.co/G8hwbaBYHh pic.twitter.com/w8aJta2O3B

Plus, an Air Canada plane also skidded on an icy runway will a less impactful result (no-one was hurt and then plane wasn’t damaged).
Air Canada Boeing 767-300 (C-FTCA) on flight #AC614 from Toronto skidded when it was about to vacate landing runway 23 at Halifax-Intl Airport (CYHZ), Nova Scotia, Canada. No one was hurt. @jeffekkel @TomPodolec pic.twitter.com/zs9KG31o7F
