Terrifying Turbulence On A Delta Flight Causes Emergency Landing

A former atmospheric scientist for NASA on Twitter quoted: “I have been predicting for several years that there would be an increase in the number and strength of clear-air turbulence due to climate change. This is just one example!”

It certainly is! Dangerous flying conditions over the US have caused crazy turbulence this week. One of the resulting incidents was on Delta flight DL5763 from Orange County to Seattle, on an Embraer ERJ 175 operated by Compass Airlines.

The aircraft made an emergency landing in Reno after five of the passengers on board were injured due to severe turbulence.

Since the incident, much love has been sent out to the Compass airlines staff and pilots for navigating through this rocky situation and getting everyone on the ground safely. The moral of the story, keep your seat-belt buckled!
