There have been major discussions, even arguments, across the frequent flyer community about the Southwest Airlines Companion Pass.
New customers who apply for the Southwest credit card in the next 24 hours (the latest date for applications is Monday, February 11), and meet minimum spending requirements will earn one of the airline’s companion passes for the rest of the year.
The companion pass works on every fare with no blackout dates, so whether you redeem a flight or pay for your flight, your partner can travel with you for free just paying taxes and fees (usually around $11 USD).
Southwest Airlines will be the cheapest way to fly to Hawaii when they finally launch this route.

If you want to book by redeeming points, you can transfer Chase Ultimate Rewards from a Chase Sapphire Preferred Card or Ink Business Preferred? Credit Card over to Southwest and redeem those points, travel with a companion, and effectively double the value of your points.
Although this all sounds too good to be true, this article argues that a crazy offer like this does make financial sense for both the airline and the credit card company.
