Book A Stay

The magic combination of a beautiful hotel and a perfect location is so hard to find, and yet so I was delighted to stumble upon the Memoire D’Angkor Boutique Hotel. Stunning inside and out, its location in Siem Reap in northwestern Cambodia near to the world heritage UNESCO site of Angkor Wat quite literally couldn’t be better.

Why We Love This Hotel

Yes, location, obviously, but it’s not just that. This is one of those hotels that manages to be both contemporary and achingly stylish yet at the same time maintains a distinctly Cambodian appeal, so you never forget where you’re staying.

Location

The location is just excellent; the hotel is situated on the Sivatha Road, just 7km from Angkor Wat, and a pleasant five-minute stroll to Pub Street, which is in the very heart of the city. Siem Reap itself is not to be overlooked; a beautiful resort town in its own right as well as being famous as the gateway to the nearby epic ruins of Angkor.

Best Time To Visit

You definitely want to visit Siem Reap and Angkor in the dry season, which falls between late November and early April. The nicest months weather-wise are December and January when there’s the least rainfall and temperatures are slightly cooler, but of course, these also bring the most visitors, and the temples can be packed, so going very slightly out of peak season can be a good thing.

How To Get There

It’s very convenient to get to Siem Reap as it has its own airport, Siem Reap-Angkor International Airport. You can fly here directly from Bangkok, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai in China, or Kuala Lumpur. From the airport, it is 8 km from the heart of Siem Reap and takes around 15 minutes by taxi to reach the center. The hotel is then just 7km from the airport.

Style & Character

The beautiful boutique hotel is ultra-modern with a stunning state-of-the-art concept; everywhere you look, there is art, and the hotel very much celebrates and respects this. The colors are bold and fabulous, with traditional Cambodian motifs, designer furnishings, dark hardwood floors, and a Zen style to the relaxing guest rooms.

Service & Facilities

When you return to your hotel after a hectic day exploring Siem Reap or marveling at the sights of Angkor, it’s almost guaranteed you’ll be hot, aching, and smiling! Where better to head then than to the gorgeous clearwater swimming pool, cool off a while, and then sit back on the relaxed patio swings and let the day memories envelop you. For a real wellness experience, the Memoria Spa is simply beautiful, and they’ll really take care of those aching bones here. Or if you need even more of a workout, there’s a spacious gymnasium that overlooks the pool. For a fun activity at the hotel, you can learn to create a local dish at a cookery class; there’s nothing better than cooking up an authentic masterpiece when you’re back at home to take you straight back to your travels.
The staff are lovely, and you’ll receive a genuine Cambodian welcome. They are friendly, professional, and very happy to help; it’s one of those places where you always remember your name.

Rooms

The wonderful art concept continues in the guest rooms and can be keenly felt in each of the 48 rooms and suites, which are carefully decorated with Cambodian art pieces from Master Artist “Theam”, whose artwork is drawn on the philosophical, symbolic, and conceptual foundation of traditional Cambodia. Choose from Deluxe Rooms, Junior Suites, Artistry Memoire Suites, or the Artistry Family Suite. All the Zen-like, large rooms are fully equipped with all the amenities that you would expect for luxury travel, including King Beds, air-conditioning, and a writing desk.

Best Rooms

If it’s just the two of you, then the Artistry Memoire Suite is stunning, romantic, spacious, and luxurious; the pièce de résistance is definitely the swing in the living room! For families, the Artistry Family Suite is perfect, with more than enough space for everyone. There are even 2 bathrooms, so no fights needed!

Food & Drink

While you are very well located to dine out in Siem Reap, the hotel itself is definitely worth including in your options. For a casual meal, the Memoire Lounge is the place to go with a trendy lounge ambiance and a sociable vibe. Alternatively, the Fusion Ozentik Cuisine serves a delectable mixture of authentic Cambodian and Western dishes. For a truly memorable experience, the Culture Aspara Dance Dinner serves a buffet dinner, which you tuck into while enjoying the impressive spectacle of live Traditional Apsara dancing. There’s also a Poolside Bar where you can enjoy a light bite or healthy dinner, ideal when you’re poolside.
