One of the highlights of the InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort in Viet Nam is the superb club lounge. Located behind an imposing pair of wooden doors, the club lounge runs the whole length of the left wing of the resort. This peaceful and private area is run like a ‘resort within a resort,’ with special amenities to elevate the already superb resort.

Upon passing the wooden gates, a small club lounge check-in area is on the right side. This area is the dedicated check-in and out area for club guests to ensure a smooth experience. The left side of the entrance is a mini room only open during breakfasts. This area is where the breakfast buffet spread is laid out. Even though it is smaller than the main buffet area, there is a chef here manning the noodles and egg station!

Walking past this area, you can see the seating areas on the left side. The seating area runs all the way to the end of the club lounge, where the bathrooms are located. There are outdoor and indoor sitting areas, with those indoor areas having air conditioning. Both outdoor and indoor sitting areas offer different seating arrangements, from small dining tables to longer ones, as well as lounging couches. There is also a small room in the middle of the indoor area where the bar and evening food is located.

At the far end of the outer area of the club lounge is the private pool. The pool is of decent length and has sunbathing chairs around it. I really appreciate this special private pool, as it is definitely something you do not see every day at other club lounges! The pool was lightly used when I was there, although there definitely were people sunbathing all day! I took the opportunity to swim a bit and sip coconut while sunbathing.

Indeed, coconuts were just one of the items available all day at the club lounge. The club lounge offers three meal services a day – breakfast, afternoon tea, and evening drinks and hors-d’oeuvres. As mentioned, there is a mini buffet spread during breakfast. However, there is also a separate menu that is refreshed daily, where guests can order a la carte items. During my stay, I had steak one morning and Japanese salmon another morning.

Afternoon tea comes in the form of an English afternoon tea set with pastries and canapes, as well as a fine selection of tea and beverages to go along with it. I also tried this option twice during my stay and greatly enjoyed the food.

Lastly, the evening drinks and hors-d’oeuvres are also very popular. There are many good quality liquor options, such as Macallan whisky, craft Vietnamese beer and a great selection of cocktails.

The hors d’oeuvre options are also great – there is always a selection of sushi, cakes, cheese, and nuts on a mini buffet spread, as well as a daily selection of hot items, such as Vietnamese spring rolls, grilled beef cheeks, skewer shrimps, and many more! My evenings were a blast having drinks and finger food here.

All in all, the club lounge at the InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort elevated my stay and made it much more memorable. Credit must also be given to the lounge team, who were courteous, friendly, and very generous with the food and alcohol portions! We recommend guests stay here to consider getting the club lounge option!
