On one of my work trips, I flew Thai Airways TG417 from Bangkok to Kuala Lumpur. After getting my nice massage in the lounge, I went to board my evening flight on a Thai Airways A330 in Royal Silk Business Class From BKK To KUL.

Thai Airways is known for constantly switching up their equipment, so I was not sure which plane I was getting. However, their business class seats are pretty much the same, and on this A330-300, it was six rows of seats in a 2-2-2 arrangement.

I was seated on 17K, which is the right side window seat on the last row. The seat was 20 inches wide and had a 58-inch pitch. The seats were just recliners, and being on the last row of in the cabin probably meant that my seat had slightly less reclination than the rest of the seats. I was not sleeping, so this was not really an issue.

For this flight, I had a seatmate on 17J. Our seats were separated by a large armrest and a small privacy screen. The power sockets and reading light were also located along this seat divider. My seat controls were on the right side of the seat while my seatmates were on the left.

Waiting for me at the seat was a large pillow. In front of my seat was the large monitor screen. On the left side of the monitor was a compartment with the flight safety cards, while below it were 2 cup holders. Under the monitor was the compartment for the in-flight magazines and food and drinks menu. The headphones for the flight were also placed here before the flight. A coat hanger latch is the only thing on the right side of the monitor.

After boarding, we were served a hot towel and a welcome drink. Soon, the flight was fully boarded, and we took off. As this was a short flight, the stewardesses came by and took our food orders shortly after taking off. I had the salmon curry for my main dish. The appetizer was a salad of crab meat, avocado, and asparagus, while the dessert was a pudding and some fruits. The meal was served together at once on a tray. I also had a glass of champagne to go along with the meal.

I watched some TV series throughout the meal and the flight. As the flight was just slightly over 2 hours, we landed in Kuala Lumpur shortly before 8:00 pm. Overall, the flight is solid for a short-haul flight.
