A Ryanair plane was grounded and seized on Thursday by French authorities in a “last resort” to fix an ongoing money dispute with the budget airline over government subsidies, according to the BBC.

The Boeing 737, had 149 passengers on board and was due to fly to the UK but is now out of action until the money due is paid.

Ryanair was reportedly paid French subsidies that were later deemed to be illegal. French authorities wouldn’t comment on the amount owed, but regional airport officials told the BBC the amount was just under $560,000.

Thursday’s incident tops a recent list of problems for Ryanair, including flight cancellations and terrified passengers bleeding from their ears in a decompression incident!

If you are looking for a luxury flying experience, this is not the airline to choose!

Fly For Free (Not On Ryanair)

I usually fly out of London Heathrow in Business Class on British Airways. British Airways is a great way to fly. I travel on British Airways Avios for free accrued on by my FREE Amex Gold Card. I convert my American Express Rewards directly to airline miles so that I can fly about exclusively on these.
