I adore finding new, inventive ways to spend my time when on my luxury travels. Activities that will be super fun and memorable are always top of my list and this is definitely true for the fabulous Afternoon Tea onboard a fine dining Brighton bus Courtesy of Brighton Regency Routemaster!
Travel is style on board a stunning iconic Routemaster RML 2333. The bus has been lovingly restored into a comfortable fine dining bus. You can go for a table for two of you is romance is on the cards or bring the girls and sit on a table for four. Or for a fancy event, why not hire the whole bus and treat 42 of your nearest and dearest! The bus itself was registered on 1st December 1965 and has operated routes all over London throughout the years so there’s a real sense of British history on board.
About the Tour
The tour picks you up from Pool Valley Bus Station in Brighton, arrive a little early to get settled. Each tour lasts approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. You will be served a delicious platter of freshly cut sandwiches filled with the likes of smoked salmon with lemon and caper butter or how about honey roast ham and mustard mayonnaise. This is accompanied by delicious, homemade sweet treats including; mini Victoria sandwiches, fruit filled eclairs, lemon meringue pie and of course, a classic buttermilk scone packed up clotted cream and jam; yummy!
What to Drink?
Your major decision is what to choose to accompany your freshly cut sandwiches and cakes! You can opt for the classic “Afternoon Tea Tour” package and sample teas including “Chrysler Breakfast”, “Shades of Grey”, “Parisian Floral Calm” or the fabulously named “The Devil is a Woman”! Or as well as teas, you can add gin with the “Gin Lovers Tour” where you’ll also enjoy 2 sparkling pink gin cocktails. My personal favourite though would simply have to be the “Prosecco Tour”, as what better to wash down afternoon tea than a glass or two of a delightful rose Prosecco.
Out the Window
As well as tucking in and enjoying life on board the bus, don’t forget to look out the window during your tour. The bus whisks you through the city of Brighton and Hove, travelling past top sights including Royal Pavilion, Palace Pier, Hove’s Grand Avenue, historical Regency Squares and the shopping mecca of the North Lanes. You head further along the seafront to visit the towns of Rottingdean and Saltdean, before heading back to enjoy the wonderful seaside views of Brighton. An experience not to be missed!
