Book A Stay

As an intrepid explorer at heart, albeit one that adores all things luxury, I do love discovering an unusual destination. Somewhere that you know the crowds will soon follow that is currently raw and unspoilt and Liberia on the West coast of Africa ticks all these boxes. Stay at the brand new Farmington Hotel, the largest hotel in the country with what is currently the country’s only infinity pool, for that dose of luxury.

Location

The Farmington Hotel is located on the banks of the Farmington River less than 100 metres from Roberts International Airport in Robertsfield near to Monrovia, the capital city of Liberia. Liberia itself is a lush, green country that is fascinating for the luxury traveller to discover; it has Africa’s cleanest cities, there’s a spectacular national park and its home to some excellent surfing beaches.

Style & Character

A brand new luxury hotel awaits you with slick, contemporary décor and a relaxed, neutral colour palate. The huge lobby gleams with marble floors and a double height entrance with statement lighting and the other communal areas are pristine and stylish.

Service & Facilities

As well as that infinity pool, which overlooks the river and has a large riverside sun deck alongside, there’s two other swimming pools, one for children and a larger main pool too which is set in the gardens with a Pool Bar to keep you refreshed. If you’re in the mood to get active, there’s a fully equipped gym, tennis and basketball courts as well as riverside beach activities like soccer and beach volleyball. You are also near to a golf course and the resort team will be more than happy to organise a round or two for you. Or to get really adventurous, take a traditional canoe ride, hike in Grand Bassa or even take a deep sea fishing trip. If all the activity leaves you craving relaxation, the resort is soon to open their Beauty Rooms which will include a sauna and steam room and where you can indulge in a wide range of treatments.
The staff are professional and create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Being located near to the airport they often receive unexpected stranded travellers and respond with grace and charm, going out of their way to turn the experience into a huge positive for them.

Rooms

The first thing you notice about the 164 ensuite, air-conditioned guest rooms is that they are quite simply huge! Even the smallest Deluxe Rooms are very spacious and enjoy a river view. An upgrade to a Suite will give you a seating area, dining table and a king sized bed as well as even more space. Choose your view from the airport or the Farmington River or better still opt for the ultimate Presidential Suite with panoramic views of the garden and river as well as a kitchen area, meeting room and Jacuzzi!

Food & Drink

The main restaurant, Toscana, serves delicious southern Italian and Mediterranean cuisine throughout the day in a relaxed setting. Head to the Lounge Bar for a lighter bite or a beverage or two, or, of course, that Pool Bar is always on hand for a snack or cocktail pool side.
