Name: The Palm At Playa
On your next trip to Mexico, ensure your accommodation reflects the vibrancy of this fabulous country with a stay at The Palm at Playa, a beautiful boutique hotel in Playa del Carmen.
The Palm at Playa is located in the very heart of Playa del Carmen, right by the beach, making it just about the perfect spot to stay! It is situated on the main street: 5th Avenue, where you are surrounded by trendy shops and restaurants. The seaside resort of Playa del Carmen is located along the Yucatán Peninsula’s Riviera Maya strip of gorgeous, palm-lined Caribbean shoreline. It’s a town on the up, luxury travellers love it because, as well as it’s natural beauty, it’s near enough to Cancún’s international airport to be accessible but is also far enough south to Cozumel, Tulum and Cobá to make it an excellent stop on a multi-resort tour of Mexico.
Style & Character
The hotel, which is a member of ‘Small Elegant Hotels’, is a chic, contemporary dream. Think lots of chilled out white and lots of wood accessorised with trendy colour blocking accents. The rooftop bar is fabulous as are the views and the pool terrace there has a real designer feel.
Service & Facilities
The rooftop is where you’ll want to spend most of your time. There’s that funky swimming pool on the terrace for a start, plus there’s a Jacuzzi and the rooftop bar offers spectacular views to accompany your favourite drink. If you fancy a change from the swimming pool (though that’s a big ask!) there’s a private Beach Club so you can relax with the sounds of the Caribbean Sea gently crashing on the soft sands in front of your lounger. There’s also a gym if you want to keep in shape while you’re away and for when you need to indulge a little, head to the spa which is inspired by holistic Mayan traditions. The hospitality is that kind of service when you’re on first name terms after half an hour; lovely and welcoming plus they’re also very accommodating and are experts on the local area so quiz them for tips!
Choose from 69 stylish rooms, lofts and suites. The Lofts have an open plan living area and the rather hedonistic twin showers. But discerning travellers will likely be swayed by the Suites! There are One and Two Bedroom Deluxe Suites both with separate living rooms and with several very tempting extras such as a wetbar and huge balcony.
Food & Drink
It would be entirely possible to spend all your time at The Roof bar, lounging about with a drink in hand by day feasting on casual dining poolside then enjoying the atmosphere and the best views in town as the sun goes down. But you definitely don’t want to miss the Sabor a Mar Restaurant either; tuck into their signature seafood dishes in a relaxed setting for lunch and dinner, and not forgetting their legendary breakfasts!
