We don’t have a name for this new airline yet, but JetBlue’s founder, Dave Neeleman, has finalized an order of 60 cheap, new Airbus A220s, to launch his new US airline
He’s working to start an airline that will have scale almost immediately at launch. Investors include former Air Canada CEO and United Chairman Robert Milton who is said to have raised $100 million USD to offer point-to-point service from smaller airports much like the Ryanair business model, using low costs to offer lower fares.
Interestingly, this aircraft can also fly transatlantic from the Northeast so could be a contender for discounted transatlantic flights.
