Villa Soraya Lodge & Spa
For luxury Moroccan-style, stay at the opulent Villa Soraya Lodge & Spa located in Morocco’s capital city of Rabat.
The hotel is located in the valley overlooking the countryside of Rabat. Rabat-Salé Airport lies just 11 miles away and the hotel is near some of the top local attractions, being 9 miles from Hassan Tower and 8 miles from The National Library of the Kingdom of Morocco. Rabat itself is Morocco’s third largest city and is compact enough to walk around; it makes for a charming alternative to the larger cities. Stroll the palm-lined boulevards of the Ville Nouvelle (new town), marvel at the slower pace and lack of traffic, visit the walled medina of the old town and relax on unspoilt beaches. One of the most popular golf courses in Morocco, Royal Golf Dar Essalam, lies just minutes from Villa Soraya, as does the Equestrian club of Dar Essalam, great just for a visit or to horse ride.
Style & Character
The hotel is housed in a magnificent grand family mansion home that was previously owned by royalty. The unique interior style is luxurious, lavish and inherently Moroccan whilst also featuring international touches having been influenced by the current owners’ trips around the world. The exterior is classically colonial with beautiful bougainvillea arches creating a feeling of grandeur.
Service & Facilities
The large infinity pool is surrounded by palm trees and manicured gardens and boasts awesome views across the valley and a poolside bar. For the ultimate in indulgence, there’s a luxury spa which offers a wide range of treatments; the Deep Tissue Massage comes highly recommended as does the Traditional Hammam for an authentically Moroccan treatment. There’s also an indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi and fitness centre as well as conference facilities if your trip has a business element.
The service makes you feel as if you were staying in a family home. They are clearly proud of their hotel and are keen to show it off and for it to be used and enjoyed.
There are three varieties of Suite to chose from for your accommodation. Pearls of the South are stunning Moroccan influenced suites with balconies offering views across the Minzah Valley. For a more contemporary feel, try the Quintessence Suites which also have views over the valley and the gardens. For something totally different, the Travel Log Suites quite literally offer a glimpse into other travels and cultures; be it Japan, London, Bali or the Orient, the suites are all stunningly unique and very tastefully designed.
Food & Drink
The main restaurant at Villa Soraya is the glamourous Ambassadors Restaurant which serves gourmet cuisine inspired by local produce. Head to the colourful and vibrant Crystal Pavilion for breakfast, take it on the terrace when weather permits and return for afternoon tea or a cocktail in the sunshine. For an intimate evening hideaway, the discreet Gatsby Bar serves a selection of Single Malt whiskeys and Cuban cigars.
