Strange Planes! The Brand New Whale Of The Skies Takes Flight


Have you ever seen a plane like this before…

Airbus currently uses an oddly large aircraft to transport oversized, unwieldy cargo like fuselages and wings.

The Beluga XL is it’s latest creation. A transporter plane based on Airbus’ twin-engine A330-200 freighter. Crucially, it can only carry both wings of the popular A350 XWB airliner.

Airbus will put the first Beluga XL into service next year and intends build four more, assuming it passes all relevant tests and flies well.

And how does it fly? Check out the video below. This whale of the skies seems rises smoothly with grace and with little effort, even with its rather bulbous head!
