Sorry to be the purveyor of bad news…. but United is “improving” its’ Domestic offering by cancelling the offering of Stroopwafels as the complimentary snacks in Coach. They are aso stopping their service of Illy Coffee.
The replacement? Maple flavoured cookies, starting this weekend.
“We know that maple is an increasingly appealing flavour, and we are always looking for ways to capitalize on trends in taste buds,” Vice President of Catering Operations Charlean Gmunder said. “We are excited to offer our customers a light, crisp snack that is created by a woman-owned bakery.”
It may not be the absolute end of the Stroopwafel on United. United says that the “Stroopwafel will be available again in the future as the airline rotates between morning snack options.”
Customers like stroopwafels; I like stroopwafels, so I suspect that this change is a result of cost-cutting rather than customer satisfaction.
