Is It Wrong To Want To Shower At 40,000 Feet?

Book A Hotel

The picture above (& in our scroller), show the First Class shower suite on the Emirates A380. Showering 40,000 feet is surely the ultimate in luxury? There are two bathrooms to choose from on this plane, both with showers and both with heated floors! They are located at the front of the upper deck, within the First Class lavatory.

It was our friends at the Luxury Travel Expert who experienced this incredible facility and they described the experience as being “quite surreal to indulge in a refreshing and rejuvenating shower at 40,000ft, using Bvlgari toiletries and Timeless Spa products”.

Each First Class passenger can shower once per flight, getting five minutes of water when showering, although you can turn the shower on and off as often as you want which means you can get properly clean. They experienced this shower in First Class on this Emirates flight from Dubai to Amsterdam.

As you can see from the photos, the cubicle is large and decorated with what I think were pink plumeria flowers, along with the Dubai skyline on the walls and light pinewood walls. Simply every amenity you could wish for is supplied, right down to Bvlgari fragrances (my favourite fragrance).

This kind of experience is out of reach of your average traveller, but a free upgrade is achievable with a bit of effort. Have a read of our tips to upgrade your next flight free to find out how you can experience such travelling luxury too!
