You don’t really need to leave the estate for entertainment but if you want to, there are breathtaking beaches on your doorstep, the Birds of Eden, Monkeyland, Tenikwa Big Cat sanctuary and Elephant Sanctuary are all within a 10-minute drive and you are just 13km from the scenic Grootrivier Pass.

Style & Character

The intimate hotel is packed with character; part rustic old world charm and part chic, contemporary style. The Cape Dutch style villas are beautiful and the vast private estate that surrounds them is a huge draw. It has its own polo club, the flora and fauna is simply incredible and even includes the award-winning Kurland roses.

Service & Facilities

The family who own the resort like to say they have a never-be-bored menu of things to do on the estate and this really is no exaggeration! You can horse ride, play tennis, mountain bike, quad bike, hike and to relax after all this, head to the beautiful outdoor swimming pool and let your cares drift away. And for some real indulgence, book a soothing treatment at the luxe spa where you can also make use of their hammam, sauna and plunge pool. It’s very family orientated and is a great place for kids; they have their own playroom, there are special children’s menus and there’s tons to occupy them on the estate.

The area enjoys a Mediterranean climate making it perfect to visit all year round. In the cooler months the fireplaces are lit everywhere you look and the place feels snug and cosy.

The hospitality and welcome at Kurland are exemplary. The staff are highly attentive and all the little extras go a long way to making you feel at home and making your time there stay with you when you really are at home! The afternoon tea is legendary, the bicycles and quad bikes can be rented for free and everyone you meet has a smile.
