Book A Stay

A luxury travel gem awaits in the shape of 5 star Fancourt Hotel in South Africa.

Location

The hotel is situated in the historic city of George on the Western Cape of South Africa in the heart of the magnificent Garden Route. The excellent location puts you just 7km from George Airport. There are a huge selection of ocean and forest activities on your doorstep, not least the big 5 safari experiences and the world’s highest bridge bungee jump!

Style & Character

Fancourt is somewhat of a global institution when it comes to luxury travel. A member of The Leading Hotels Of The World, the resort is beautifully landscaped on 613 hectares of lush countryside. Your backdrop is the majestic Outeniqua Mountains and you are near the Indian Ocean. The resort is elegant, classy and expertly treads the fine line between classic and contemporary.

Service & Facilities

It’s no exaggeration to say Fancourt is South Africa’s premier leisure resort. Not only is it renowned for golf but also for leisure activities to suit the entire family.

Avid golfers can pick from three 18-hole golf courses (Montagu, Outeniqua and The Links) all of which are ranked in the Top 15 in South Africa. If keeping active if your thing, there is a gymnasium, 4 tennis courts and indoor heated and outdoor swimming pools. You are surrounded by running, walking and cycling trails or head to the nearby Witfontein Nature Reserve for more hiking, mountain biking and trail running. For slightly calmer pursuits, there is bird watching and fishing on the estate, a cinema and glorious swimming beaches can be found nearby. Or to truly indulge, the Spa includes an indoor heated Roman Bath, steam room, sauna, Jacuzzi and tepidarium and of course you must try a treatment; the hot stone massage is sublime. To entertain the younger members of the family, that’s a kid’s club and a teen lounge, a golf academy for over 7’s and you can hire bicycles. Quite literally something for everyone, just make sure you stay long enough to enjoy it all!

The service here is as renowned as the facilities; they treat all their guests like celebrities (perhaps because some are). The staff are professional and friendly and the accommodation and grounds are immaculately maintained.

Rooms

Guest rooms are split between the main hotel which has 115 rooms and the 150-year-old Manor House which has been transformed into a boutique hotel with 18 suites. You can also self-cater in the resort’s privately-owned lodges.
In the hotel, there are Classic or Luxury Rooms and One or Two Bedroom Suites. All the rooms have either a shared or private balcony or patio, the views from which are exquisite whichever you opt for; be it the Outeniqua Mountains, the Fancourt gardens or the golf courses. The Classic rooms are beautiful and very well equipped but the Luxury Rooms are that bit more suitable for discerning guests. Upgrade to a Suite for a separate living area and exceptional views from your private balcony or patio.

The epitome of luxury travel has to be The Manor House. Stunning, sophisticated and sensual spaces with the benefit of personalised, butler style service. The refined House also has its own bar, a divine private pool and a private library.

Food & Drink

There’s a great selection of eateries on the estate. One night you can go casual Italian at La Cantina and the next, enjoy fine dining at Henry Whites. The Club Lounge is perfect for a family lunch before a round of golf or relax on the outdoor pergola at Monet’s restaurant and soak up the café bistro atmosphere.
