Cruising is meant to be relaxing, right? It was anything but a relaxing cruise for passengers on Carnival’s latest cruise in the South Pacific.
Apparently “a large family group” instigated the violence on Carnival Legend which set sail from Melbourne to New Caledonia last week. Rumours suggest the fight was a result of someone standing on someone else’s foot.
It got so bad that some passengers were locked inside their cabins and others actually got thrown off the ship.
The video below reveals guards punching, kicking and threatening passengers during the worst of the fighting.
This was followed with delightful spitting in the pool, screaming in the smoking area and fighting. Passengers were even warned not to walk the decks alone.
The police were called to meet the ship off the coast of Eden, a few hundred miles east of Melbourne. Passengers gathered on the Legend’s deck, booing and clapping as the family was loaded into a police boat. As a goodwill gesture, Carnival said, passengers who made it through the cruise have been offered a 25-percent-off coupon for their next cruise.
