The Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall is a stunning and unique part of Britain with a beauty and a wilderness that is quite unmatched elsewhere. To fully experience the romance of the area why not try glamping at Glampotel Lizard Point.
The Glampotel site is located on a small farm at the heart of the Lizard Peninsula close to Mullion village. The Lizard Peninsula is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, almost entirely surrounded by the sea, it presents a rugged face to the elements. There are many delightful tiny fishing villages to visit, with thatched cottages and tiny harbours packed with colourful fishing boats. Its beauty is captivating and it’s no surprise that it has been a continuing source of inspiration for artists and writers. It has its own micro climate too and is often much warmer than the rest of Britain!
Style & Character
The four Canvas Cottages on this boutique site are located in a large secluded field with hypnotic panoramic views across the hills and open countryside. So much of the beauty of the site is in the surroundings but the Canvas Cottages themselves have a genuine wow-factor too. With hardwood floors, handmade wooden furniture, luxury linens and an ensuite bathroom you could be forgiven for thinking you are in a hotel until you realise that the walls and ceiling are made of canvas!
Service & Facilities
The cottages are managed by Glampotel, the leading eco-tourism glamping hotel chain whose fabulous Canvas Cottages can be found in sites across the UK and Europe.
At Lizard Point, as you are on a farm, there are a number of rather wonderful benefits; they produce their own free-range eggs and stock Primrose Herd Award-winning bacon from traditionally reared rare breed pigs so your breakfast will be quite exceptional! There is a vintage farm shop which sells their produce as well as some lovely vintage homeware pieces. You can also request some extras to make your getaway extra-romantic, such as champagne and chocolates, or a flower arrangement. The service is simply lovely, your hosts are welcoming, friendly and helpful. The site is also dog-friendly so you can bring your four-legged friends too.
The Cottage includes a king size bed with a memory foam mattress, luxurious soft pillows, Egyptian cotton sheets, pillow cases and a hypo-allergenic duvet; this is definitely nothing like camping and is very firmly at the glam end of glamping! You also have a private en-suite bathroom with instant hot water shower, hot and cold running water, a modern eco-friendly toilet, lovely fluffy towels and complimentary toiletries; far removed from queueing at faintly unpleasant communal shower blocks!
Food & Drink
There is a fully-equipped kitchenette with everything that you need to make a delicious outdoor meal, as well as a gas-powered BBQ and a large private wooden deck with a patio heater and a bistro dining set; the perfect spot to dine al fresco and then snuggle together as the sun sets with a few chilled beverages. You can also purchase a range of local produce; including preserves, apple juice, Cornish sea salt, milk, butter, eggs and ice cream from the farm to elevate your home-cooked efforts and you can order breakfast hampers from your hosts too which we’d definitely recommend! When you wish to eat out, your hosts can recommend a number of lovely local cafes and restaurants in the surrounding villages and towns.
