This offer is for a free First Class flight upgrade from Business Class to First Class on British Airways one-way at no extra cost. The deal was highlighted to me by HeadForPoints.com.
If you book a cash flight in BA Club World, you might be able to get a free upgrade on one of your flights to First Class. To secure this upgrade you need to book a flexible or semi-flexible Club World ticket (J, C, D or R). The cheapest Club World tickets (I) are excluded. You will also only get your upgrade if British Airways is selling ‘cheap’ A-class First Class seats on your flight.
Book with a travel agent such as our Luxury Travel Concierge or via the BA call centre (0344 493 0787) and request the upgrade at time of booking. You cannot book this offer online. You can read the full ts and cs on British Airways.
To qualify for transatlantic flights including USA, Canada and Mexico you must be a citizen of: UK, Belgium, Germany, Greece, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Sweden, Spain and Switzerland. For other long-haul destinations, you must live in: UK, Belgium, Germany, Denmark, Finland, France, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
Flights to Tokyo and Doha have been excluded as well as London Gatwick to Barbados, Bermuda, Cancun, Fort Lauderdale, St Lucia, Oakland, Orlando, Port of Spain and Tampa.
Why Is This A Great Offer?
Read my reviews of British Airways in First Class. It is significantly better than the thin seats in British Airways in Business Class. I have also compared First Vs Business Class on British Airways where I specifically outline the merrits of each class.
Crucially, you will also earn more Avios and tier points for your leg in First. This would be 210 tier points for the flight you take in First Class on most routes, rather than the standard 140 tier points for Club World.
