At the end of 2017, the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) conducted the first ever test of a collision between a drone and a passenger plane. This test was designed to determine the effects of a quad-copter drone hitting the front windscreen of a passenger plane during flight.

Only the nose of an aircraft was created for the test, to showcase what would happen to a standard domestic jetliner. Two drones were then directed to collide with the windscreen of the plane.

Although the damage caused would not have been immediately fatal for pilots and passengers, both outer cockpit window panes cracked as a result of the collision, which is more than worrying as you can see in the video below.
