Book A Hotel

In this article, I review the best off-strip luxury hotels in Las Vegas. You see, there is a more peaceful and luxurious side to Vegas than the mega hotels that can be found on the main strip, and here is my selection of hotels that offer life and luxury beyond that iconic street.

JW Marriott Las Vegas

10 miles west, you will find what is probably my favorite Las Vegas Hotel; the JW Marriott Las Vegas. Surrounded by green hills, lush gardens, and golf courses, this resort has a Mediterranean feel. Luxurious rooms offer views out to the desert, pools, and gardens, which come complete with their own mini-river and waterfall. It is quite something to see the expanses of green of the resort set against the arid desert landscape behind.

Westin Lake Las Vegas

The Westin Lake Las Vegas is another classy option off the main strip and offers gorgeous pools and firepits where you can sip a cocktail alfresco. It also borders Lake Las Vegas which is a wonderful asset in the summer as a floating lakeside platform becomes a stage for live concerts under the stars.

Ravella Lake Las Vegas

Ravella Hilton Las Vegas has a Mexican look and is also located at Lake Las Vegas. This classy 300-acre luxury resort is surrounded by miles of golf greens and offers views into the desert. It is the kind of place that a luxury traveler would be happy in.

M Resort

M Resort is located around 7 miles from the Strip and offers beautiful desert views, outdoor lounges, a spa, and a large pool. This hotel is, however, much like the hotels on the main strip, with a high-rise style and not a whole lot of character.

Palms and Palms Place Hotel

If you think you might miss the strip and enjoy sports and glitz, try the 3 towers of the Palms Hotel & Casino which is a 40-story hotel with a sporty theme. It includes a suite with a bedroom that is also a hardwood basketball court, a bowling suite, a Barbie suite, and a Playboy suite which includes revolving lap dance sofas, showers with poles, and Jacuzzis with a view.

Most of these hotels offer complimentary minibus transfers to the strip, making them worth considering if you are looking for a quieter, more peaceful, and more luxurious version of Las Vegas.
