Almost Free Valentines Flowers (UK only)
Apple Yard flowers are giving a huge 30 British Airways Avios per £1 GBP spent. I value Avios at £0.02 GBP per Avios, which is explained in more detail in my Avios valuation article. This means that if you spend £29.99 GBP on 12 letterbox red roses, you will earn a massive 900 Avios, which I value at £18 GBP. If you can get a similar valuation out of your Avios as me, then this is the perfect gift for the one you love! Make sure you log in to your Avios account (or join and become a member) before you click through from the Apple Yard page on Avios.
Almost Free Valentines Flowers (US only)
If you are looking to treat your loved one with some Valentine’s flowers, you will not beat the current offer from FTD Flowers and 1-800-Flowers. Get 30 American AAdvantage miles per dollar spent at FTD Flowers. Get 30 United MileagePlus miles per dollar at either FTD Flowers or 1-800-Flowers. Get 30 Delta SkyMiles per dollar at FTD Flowers. You can also collect miles to fly to Hawaii with Hawaiian Airlines, again at the rate of 30 miles per dollar spent at 1-800-Flowers.
Most people value their AA etc. Airmiles at 1.2 cents per mile, but if you are able to maximize your value out of your miles and get 1.5-2 cents of value per mile, then these flowers are almost free. Of course, you are the only person to know what the miles are worth to you, but this is certainly a rewarding way to treat your loved one (or yourself!).
Free Up To £90 GBP At London Heathrow
Heathrow Rewards is a loyalty scheme that is exclusively for those traveling through London Heathrow airport. You collect these rewards at the duty-free shops, as well as on parking at the airport.
Heathrow Rewards has launched an extremely generous sign-up bonus for 2018 of 3,000 points. 3,000 points are worth £30 GBP (around $42 USD) of Heathrow shopping vouchers or Heathrow Express train vouchers. If you use these points for Heathrow car parks, you get or £60 GBP (around $84 USD) worth of vouchers towards parking.
You can also redeem your 3,000 points for 3,000 Avios or miles in Virgin Flying Club, Etihad Guest, Miles & More, Emirates Skywards, Royalskies (Royal Brunei), or Krisflyer (Singapore Airlines). But remember that Heathrow Rewards regularly offers a 50% bonus on airline miles transfers, so the sign-up bonus could be worth 4,500 Avios or other airline miles. I value these Avios at a huge £90 GBP! “Free”.
Take out a membership for you and your partner, and you get 2-lots of these points. What to buy? Well there is always fragrance, but to get to the value of £150 GBP, I will be reserving a set of APPLE AirPods Wireless Bluetooth Headphones.
Claim your bonus on the Heathrow Rewards website and check that the bonus code AVIOSAO18 shows at the bottom of contact information section. You must then spend £150 GBP in a single day before 31st December 2018 to get your 3,000 points.
