Airlines have never competed to such an extent as in 2017 and the trend looks set to continue into 2018. Gone are the days of only the rich being able to fly transatlantic; if you can bear to forgo much luggage, you can fly transatlantic for under $100 USD.
Norwegian and WOW Air, are just two major players who have entered the long-haul, transatlantic market and the airline LEVEL will join then with cheap approx. $100 USD flights from Barcelona to Boston and Paris to Montreal & New York City from March 2018. But let’s not forget the legacy carriers who are competing with sales like the Virgin Atlantic $280 USD round trip transatlantic flights.
These crazy flight prices are not restricted to transatlantic. Scoot has launched low-cost flights to Hawaii from Singapore and Japan with prices starting at $89 USD, and Norwegian have launched flights from cities like New York down to the sunshine in the Caribbean for peanuts too, along with flights to South America. Finally, United is launching direct flights from San Fransisco to Tahiti which will open up this destination to a whole new bunch of travelers.
Wherever you are in the world, 2018 will be the time to fly and here is our pick of the best deals currently out there:
Virgin Atlantic Flight Sale: London From $280 USD Round Trip
Virgin Atlantic launched it’s US & UK Winter sale. They have been one of our favorite ways to fly although the disaster with their Dreamliner engines has made them a slightly less appealing choice lately.
This “fabulous flight sale” starts with prices from $280 USD return from Boston to London & $318 USD return from LA to London on their US site. The UK offers start at £385 GBP return from the UK to America in their UK Winter sale
Check their route map for the full low-down on where they fly.
Los Angeles To Milan & Madrid For $229 USD
More goodies from Norwegian Airlines as it launches flights direct from New York JFK to Amsterdam and Madrid and from Los Angeles to Milan and Madrid. The flights will be on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners. The cost? $299 USD one way from Los Angeles to Milan or Madrid. Flights launch between May and July 2018.
New York To Amsterdam & Madrid For $199 USD
Norwegian Airlines is also launching New York JFK to Amsterdam and Madrid routes $199 USD one way. We love the Intercontinental Amsterdam and can offer extra benefits here if you book via our luxury travel concierge. Flights launch between May and July 2018.
Other Bargain Norwegian Airlines Destinations
By the end of the summer, you will be able to fly on Norwegian from Los Angeles to Barcelona, Copenhagen, London Gatwick, Oslo, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Rome and Stockholm, and from New York JFK, the destinations are Copenhagen, London Gatwick, Oslo, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Stockholm in Europe along with the Caribbean islands of Guadeloupe and Martinique (Guadeloupe and Martinique flights start at just $59 USD one-way). All these fares are super cheap and can be found on Norwegian Airlines.
United To Tahiti
Not a deal as such but a brand new destination for those based in and around San Fransisco. This week, United Airlines announced that is launching flights from San Francisco and Papeete in Tahiti, in 2018. This nonstop service will be three times a week on United’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner beginning Oct. 30, 2018, through March 28, 2018.
Europe To New York €235 EUR With Lufthansa
Lufthansa has truly amazing deals out of Stockholm and Oslo to America. The deals are available from January thru June of 2018, and then again after the summer. Lufthansa is an impressive legacy airline and if you have any intention of traveling from Europe to the States this year, this is a great option. This was my pick of Stockholm to New York on google flights although you can have a play around with destinations as the offers are available from Stockholm, London, Oslo, Paris. These destinations also offer cheap flights to Los Angeles.
New York to Cancun for $279 USD
A great price if you fancy some sun. Again, there is no trick in booking this; just make the booking on the Delta Airlines website.
