Belize For Beaches, Jungle, Mayan Ruins & The World’s Second Largest Barrier Reef

Belize’s natural beauty rivals some of the world’s most sought-after playgrounds. It borders Mexico to the north and Guatemala to the east, and offers glorious beaches on the shores of the sparkling Caribbean sea. Belize is also the only Latin American country whose official language is English, which is useful for travellers from North America and the UK – but so far, it is not overrun by tourists.

Lush jungles with Mayan ruins coupled with pristine beaches and cayes provide endless exploration opportunities in Belize. On the coastline there is no better resort choice than Itz’ana Resort (pictured above). Named after the Mayan god of day and night, Itz’ana offers beachside luxury and the perfect spot to experience the soul of Belize.

This resort is ideally located next to islands, beaches, rivers, jungle, caves and the world’s second largest barrier reef. 39 luxury boutique cottages and villas, designed for waterfront living, are set around the “Great House”, an ode to the great Caribbean estates of years past.

Just beyond the heavenly Itz’ana waters awaits an even more blissful escape. Their private island basking under the tropical Belizean sun. Here you can feast on an island picnic, sail a sundown yacht charter or even make it your own overnight campsite. And with the barrier reef as your backyard and pristine waters lapping on the shore, a trip here will make your Honeymoon truly special.

Da Nang Vietnam

Da Nang is a coastal city in central Vietnam known for its sandy beaches and history as a French colonial port. Although lacking in interesting sightseeing beyond strolling along the Han riverfront to take in its spectacular bridges and the vast China beach strip, it is well worth booking a night-time neon tour to see the city sparkle.

What is more interesting than the town itself is the local area surrounding Da Nang. It’s a popular base for visiting the inland Bà Nà hills, where the Hải Vân Pass has views of Da Nang Bay and the mysterious caves, grottoes and a Buddhist Pagoda that are hidden inside Marble Mountain

Stay on Son Tra Peninsula which rises 693m high above sea level. Here you can visit Linh Ung Bai But pagoda with its huge Lady Buddha statue, which is one of the tallest in Vietnam.

We are regulars at the Intercontinental Danang, located near the back of the Son Tra Peninsula. This stunning resort combines beach and rainforest and you are scooted about in golf carts (largely due to the steep nature of the mountains). You will not find anywhere else in the world that is quite like this and is bordered by a beautiful sandy beach which is fantastic for relaxing, swimming and honeymooning.

Miles & Miles Of Unspoiled Beach In Nicaragua

Although Nicaragua is bordered by the Caribbean to the east, there are some unbelievable beaches that can be found on it’s Pacific coast to the west. Located on the Pacific coast of Nicaragua, Hacienda & Ecolodge Morgan’s Rock sits on the edge of a 4,000-acre expanse of Nicaraguan jungle and on the shores of the most idyllic golden sand beach. In this private protected reserve, you can enjoy this private beach bordered by unspoilt lush jungle, along with all its associated wildlife.

Fifteen exquisite bungalows, constructed of natural materials are tucked gracefully into the jungle. Set into the treetops, each three-sided bungalow is perched on a cliff 30-100 feet over the private beach and cove, just across a 50 yard jungle suspension bridge. The balcony is a highlight, with a queen size day bed suspended by a thick marine rope. Enjoy a morning coffee, a glass of wine with the sunset, or a well-deserved nap in your day bed while soaking in stunning vistas and unparalleled wildlife. Expect to see howler monkeys, languorous sloths hanging from the trees, and a variety of vibrant tropical birds.

The mile-long stretch of sandy beach is great for surfing or body boarding during the day, strolls in the evenings and beach bonfires at night. The starlit beach is also the perfect place to witness baby turtles hatchlings scurrying out to sea – a truly unforgettable experience!

Golden Triangle, Thailand

Bring out the adventurer in you by heading to the Golden Triangle in Thailand. The Golden Triangle is a name that was introduced by the CIA in the 1920s, when this area was one of the world’s most prolific opium producers. The Golden Triangle sits in northern Thailand where borders converge with Laos and Burma and where the Ruak and Mekong rivers join.

Expect Lush jungle, mist-shrouded mountains, unspoiled tribal villages and peaceful views of rice paddies. Tucked away in the historic Golden Triangle region, the fantastically luxurious Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle is the perfect escape from the rest of the world.

Located within 40.4 miles from Chiang Rai International Airport, Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle overlooks the Mekong River and offers an all-inclusive package of elephant trekking, spa treatments, meals and round-trip airport transfer. 15 luxury tents feature a private balcony, air conditioning and a minibar. Guests can relax in a custom-made wooden hot tub on an outdoor deck or relax by the riverside free-form pool and a spa.

In line with all Four Seasons resorts, expect outstanding Four Seasons service and attention to detail, gourmet cuisine served in a variety of different locations and if you have ever dreamed of riding on an elephant, this is the place to do it!

Four Seasons Tented Camp Golden Triangle also features in our best luxury tented camps in the world.

Zanzibar For Reefs & Beaches

This beautiful island is often left off “top 10” lists as it has yet to become a mainstream destination and yet the beaches and reefs here match and even beat many beaches in the Maldives. The Park Hyatt Zanzibar is a great starting point for exploring this island.
