I love this time of year. The Autumn foliage on the trees, the crisp mornings that are still novel, by January they are just depressing but right now I am enjoying the crunchy ground and frost on my lawn.
Of course, Christmas is next and I have a few luxury lovelies that have come across my desk that are worth sharing as the days get shorter.
Keen boots are always a favourite and an absolute must for Fireworks night. In fact last year, my toasty keen boots meant my feet were the only bit of me that was warm as the fireworks lit up the night sky in a cold Dorset Field. This year I will be wearing these waterproof and cosy Elsa boots. I like them so much that I bought a pair for my sister and my mother. They are just perfect for looking stylish whilst kicking through piles of leaves on chilly countryside strolls.
On my face I will be wearing Skinn makeup this Autumn and their brilliant “hardly there” fake eyelashes. These lashes are perfect for daywear, not too big or thick, but enhancing your natural lashes in a lovely way! Their liquid eyeliner is their perfect accompaniment to finish the look and is double-ended with a standard eyeliner pencil on the other end, so you only need one pen in your handbag for touchups. Finally to stop your skin getting dry now your heating will be back on, you can’t beat their Skinn Shea body butter.
Soley Healing Cream
For those chapped bits, Soley Organics, a luxury skincare brand founded in Iceland, offers skincare to beat the winter chill with products ranging from anti-aging serum to healing cream, hair products and candles.
Icelandic actress Sóley Elíasdóttir, an iconic figure in Icelandic film and theatre, founded Sóley Organics in 2007. She decided to leave the stage and focus on her family’s roots and traditions of harnessing the healing properties of Iceland’s native herbs. Sóley’s first product, GRÆÐIR, remains my favourite. It is an all-purpose healing balm, based on one of Erlingur’s recipes. Each recipe is powerful and effective, yet gentle, natural and harmless. Use it on your hands, lips, cheeks elbows or anywhere that needs that extra bit of help.
And on my ears? I avoid my nickel allergies with hypoallergenic jewellery from skin friendly Blomdahl. these super sparkly balls that look like Christmas tree baubles which are perfect for the festive season!
And where will I be travelling this Autumn? London for walks in Regents Park and to catch the first Christmas decorations in Harrods, Sussex for those crunchy countryside walks and I think we will head back to Gainsborough Bath Spa for their amazing spa, lovely bar and delicious breakfasts.
