Danish airline, Primera Air has announced plans for $99 transatlantic flights from Newark and Boston to Europe; Birmingham, London Stansted and Paris Charles de Gaulle in 2018 using Airbus A321neos.
These flights will launch in April 2018 and will offer one of the cheapest ways to fly transatlantic. The headline price is $99 but the cheapest flight I could find was $139 (pictured above).
I have already reviewed my flights on Norwegian Airlines. They offer the best Premium Economy transatlantic with their Norwegian Premium seats on their Dreamliner and also offer super cheap economy tickets on direct routes out of London to the United States.
Wow Air is your other super-cheap option for flying transatlantic although it involves a layover in Reykjavik. I have reviewed their WOW Air A330 Business Class (which has a tolerable Premium Economy). The WOW Air Economy offering is less tolerable with very uncomfortable seats although it is undeniably cheap
Like WOW Air, this Primera Airfare includes very little. A checked bag, choosing your seat, and a meal will add $90 more to the cost of your ticket. The headline $99 price is a hand-luggage only fare and will get you to Europe. The return flight looks to be slightly more expensive, but to fly into Europe, it would be hard to find cheaper.
Andri M. Ingolfsson, Primera Air President and Chairman of Primera Air, said:
“We are very proud to announce our new base at London Stansted and routes to the USA. With our brand new Airbus A321NEO aircraft, we are opening routes previously traditionally served only by wide-body aircraft. With the unmatched efficiency of these new-generation aircraft, we will be able to offer unprecedented prices to our passengers from London Stansted to the USA. At the same time, we are very proud to be offering a low-fare/high-quality product and service concept, that will be perfect both for leisure and business travellers”.
