Sometimes to get a true feel of a destination, you need to truly immerse yourself. This can mean that you need to stay with a local, or in the case of Havana, a stay in a casa particular is very popular.
Casa Havana in Calle Habana is a cross between a bed & breakfast and a boutique hotel. The owner, Neli, rents a number of character filled and comfortable rooms in this premium casa particular in Old Havana.
The location is ideal, just off the bustling Calle Obispo and a short walk from the Prado and the rest of Old Havana, and a short walk from the Malecon where you can watch the sunset. Other attractions which are easily accessible on foot or bici-taxi.
The casa itself is a wonderful example of the local architecture and packed with beautiful Cuban art and antiques. Each room has a private bathroom, air-conditioning and some art by the Cuban artist Jesus Nodarse. The Casa has beautiful high ceilings, and is bright and breezy.
Besides the lovely bedrooms and shared living spaces, breakfast and a delicious dinner are also available upon request. Wonderful breakfasts include fresh fruit, yoghurt, eggs, toast, honey, tea and coffee.
Neli is friendly, welcoming and is very helpful with everything from helping book reservations, to translating your many questions, as she speaks English.
Perhaps the best feature of this casa is the relaxing roof terrace which has a bar and several tables. It is an amazing place for a coffee in the morning and a mojito in the evenings, with glorious views of Havana and the Caribbean sunset.
Nelli’s Casa is a luxury home away from home in beautiful, bustling Havana, you’ll never want to leave!
