Luxury Travel Diary has flown with British Airways many times and have reviewed their long-haul First Class flights. Our trip reports can be found below.

I also have compared British Airways First vs. Business Class and unsurprisingly, First comes out on top, with seats you can truly sleep on (I find the Business Class seats to narrow and uncomfortable to sleep on for long).

When flying in First, you get access to the British Airways iconic Concorde Room. You can only access the Concorde Room if you are traveling in First. You can alternatively get access to the British Airways First Class Galleries Lounge at Gatwick or the Galleries First At Heathrow if you are traveling out of London.

The Concorde Room is only available at London’s Heathrow Airport and New York’s JFK Airport (with smaller, less extensive Concorde bars at Dubai Airport and Singapore Airport). This lounge can only be accessed if you’re flying First Class on an airline in the Oneworld alliance (one guest is welcome as well) or if you hold a Concorde Room card, given out for earning 5,000 tier points in a year.

Below you will find our most recent flight reviews on British Airways in First; you can draw your own conclusions.

My preference when I fly First Class from San Francisco (SFO) to London Heathrow (LHR) is always the A380, however, there was no space available on this plane so I booked my return flight on the 747. My experience started in Amsterdam and then transmitted through Heathrow with a 3-hour stopover. In that time I enjoyed breakfast in the Concorde Room, which was delightful, especially the full breakfast and the speciality cocktails. It was alittle early, but I had to try one.

I flew First Class On The British Airways Dreamliner B787-9 from London’s Heathrow Airport (LHR) to Muscat International Airport (MCT) in Oman. The BA flight from London to Muscat is not direct, as the plane makes a short, scheduled stop-over of around one hour in Abu Dhabi, where some passengers get off and new ones on. Those with Muscat as the final destination don’t need to get off in Abu Dhabi. The cabin crew also remains on the plane during the process (they have their layover in Muscat) while the flight crew changes in Abu Dhabi.

In this trip report, we review British Airways A380 in First Class from Johannesburg to London Heathrow (LHR) in England. British Airways currently has 12 A380s in its fleet, deploying them on routes between London and Hong Kong, Johannesburg, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Miami (seasonal), Vancouver (seasonal), Singapore, Boston, and Washington DC. The look of the First Class cabin is very sleek and beautiful. Still, the experience pales in comparison to that offered by other airlines on their A380 planes, such as Emirates, Qatar Airways, Etihad Airways, and Qantas.
