22 Solstice in Mammoth Lakes
Something a little different for seasoned skiers; much as I love the après-ski scene and the busy ski resorts, sometimes you just need a little peace and a sanctuary all of your own, and this combination is exactly what you’ll find at 22 Solstice – a stunning, luxury property just minutes from the ski slopes, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle that you can relax in solitude.
You will find this luxury condo tucked away in the midst of the stunning Sierra Nevada’s, right on the Sierra Star Golf Course in Mammoth Lakes, which lies on the Eastern Sierras in California. You are surrounded by stunning views of the Sherwin Mountains and are on the edge of Yosemite National Park, one of the great wonders of the American West. In this fabulous location, the outdoor life literally comes to you; you are minutes from the ski slopes of Mammoth Mountain, where you can enjoy skiing, snowboarding, dog sledding, and snowmobiling – there are 350 ski-able acres, 150 named trails, and 29 lifts! Of course, you are also on a golf course, so it would almost be rude not to join in. Or why not take the family hiking on one of the many local trails, relax with a spot of fishing; there are over 100 lakes and streams in Mammouth Lake, and it’s known for its world-class trout fishing; or in the summer months, get adventurous and try your hand at dirt and mountain biking, horse riding or kayaking. The nearest airport is Mammoth Yosemite Airport, alternatively San Francisco Airport is a 6-hour drive, or Las Vegas Airport is a 5-hour drive.
Style & Character
The condo was renovated in 2017, and the result is beautiful; I’d call it glamorous, rustic; think exposed woods, inviting soft furnishings, and a warm color palette to match.
Service & Facilities
A unique, upscale mountain abode awaits; with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, it would perfectly suit a couple or a family. You will be very comfortable during your time here; the floors are heated, and there is a gas fireplace to keep you toasty in the evenings. If you want to hibernate and relax in the evenings, why not snuggle up and watch a movie; there’s a 39 inch flat screen HDTV, cable TV, including sports, news, and premium movie channels, as well as a Blue Ray DVD player and Bluetooth sound system. Hence, you have all the modern gadgets to help distract you for just a moment from those views. On warmer days, outside, you’ll find the outdoor spa Jacuzzi is the place to be (or just make a dash for it if it’s a little chilly, it’s heavenly once you’re in whatever the outside temperature!) and your private deck is the perfect spot to dine with its patio table for 4; both benefit from those wonderful views across the Sierra Star golf course and amazing panoramic vistas of the Sherwin Mountains. Everything to make life easy is included here; so, there’s a washer/dryer – very handy with an active family, as well as a secure underground parking garage, so there’s no risk of shoveling snow off the car in the winter months!
There are two bedrooms, the master has a comfortable queen bed, and the second bedroom has a comfy double bed with a single top bunk. Both rooms are ensuite, so no fighting over the bathroom! The property can sleep 5 at a maximum.
Food & Drink
There is a well-stocked and very well-equipped kitchen. It’s actually a beautiful space in which to cook, with granite worktops, fabulous appliances, and you overlook the dining area, so it’s the ideal setup to chat over a glass of wine while you create a feast; my favorite way to cook! If you fancy eating out, you are close to the center of town where you can find a choice of restaurants. There’s a free town shuttle that leaves from a few doors down from the condo, or the nearest restaurant, Nevados, is just half a mile away.
