Top of our list is a cool bar; something that can accompany a night at the theatre, fine dining or a pre-curser to clubbing, as well as being an entire night in its own right. If you know where to go, there are some seriously hip bars to visit in the capital, read on for our guide to the top 3 cool bars in London…

1. Icebar London

This bar genuinely isn’t at the top of the cool list because it’s literally cold here we promise! It’s also one of our favourite bars in London and is so cool because it’s just such a standout-different experience to anywhere else.
It is super welcome in the summer when it can get hot and stuffy in London, this realm of ice is utterly refreshing. The bar is in Mayfair just a stone’s throw from Regents Street, so why not combine a visit with a little shopping, it’s perfect to cool down among the crystal-clear ice which is harvested especially from the frozen Torne River in Jukkasjärvi, Northern Sweden, after all those hot shops.

As for the décor, well, the name gives it away a little, the entire place is made of ice – the walls, the bar, the amazing sculptures and even the glasses themselves; it’s a totally sensory experience! It’s a rather chilly -5 degrees inside all year round, though they provide designer capes and gloves so you can wrap up cosy. If you need to thaw out a little, head to the lovely warm cocktail bar and restaurant, the seasonal menu is innovative and delicious. For a unique activity while you enjoy your cocktail, try your hand at creating your own ice sculpture masterpiece with an ice carving session! The crystal-clear ice is harvested especially from the frozen Torne River in Jukkasjärvi, Northern Sweden.

This bar is unique and special, take your loved one, this bar offers the ultimate excuse to cosy up with temperatures of -5’C and those snug capes, or take your mates and get sloshed under an ice statue – it’s hard to imagine a cooler bar!

2. The Escapologist

The venue of this bar is part of the reason it’s just so cool; it is located in the headquarters of a secret society in Covent Garden that basically ran London in Victorian times! All dark wood, leather booths and dark corners, it fits this history perfectly. It is billed as part ‘modern day Victorian men’s club’ and ‘part Masonic lodge’. With fabulous cocktails, a twist on modern classics and a pizza menu that is more fine dining than cardboard-box-takeaway, there’s lots to enjoy while you’re here as well as just knowing that you’re in a somewhat illicit venue. The party really gets going late, but it’s also a great spot for after-work drinks; the vibe here is always extra cool basically.

3. Looking Glass Cocktail Club

If you are a cocktail lover then this bar is for you, it does the craziest combinations with the most unusual ingredients but seems to get it right every time and just creates magic in your glass. When you first enter the club, you could be disappointed, its name promised something intriguing but at first it seems just rather normal, however as you enter a large mirror at the side of the bar, the Looking Glass Room, a clandestine drinking hole appears with abstract photos and strange hints of something rather mysterious. But you’ll always come back to the cocktails here, a seriously cool Shoreditch party bar that keeps its clientele coming back for more of those delicious drinks.
