Name: Oceanic Khorfakkan Resort & Spa
Location: United Arab Emirates
For a family beach escape on UAE’s picturesque east coast, Oceanic Khorfakkan Resort & Spa offers fabulous leisure facilities, a generous range of dining options and luxury villa-style accommodation.
Nestled in the coastal town of Khorfakkan, you’ll find the resort set directly on the beach, surrounded by the spectacular rolling hills of the Hajjar Mountains. Oceanic Khorfakkan Resort is just a 90-minute drive from Dubai airport and Sharjah airport. If travelling from London, it makes more sense to fly into Dubai with a flight time of under 7 hours, as your only option is much longer connecting flights if you fly into Sharjah. The resort is just 20 minutes from the bustling cities of Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah, and few minutes away from vibrant downtown attractions, which include a championship golf course and one of a kind dive sites.
Style & Character
Billed as an Arabian luxury resort it meets its brief perfectly. The beach is central to life here and what a beach; secluded and private with warm sands, gleaming waters and lush greenery.
Service & Facilities
The resort is understandably proud of its world class health club which includes a fitness gym with stunning views of Khorfakkan, including the beach and mountains. The spa is named for its panoramic setting on the rooftop and offers amazing vistas and as well a range of multi-purpose treatment rooms and a relaxation lounge with a menu of treatments inspired by the ocean; you’re sure to leave an altogether revitalised and refreshed version of you. Other leisure facilities include an outdoor temperature controlled swimming pool, a children’s swimming pool, tennis courts, beach volleyball and a wide variety of water sports including snorkelling, kayak, banana rides and diving; you can see why this resort is such a hit with families, there’s such a lot to do here! There are also a wealth of business facilities including an Executive Business Centre, outdoor function areas and a vast, glamourous ballroom.
The resort has 177 spacious guestrooms and lavish suites, amenities available in every room include: 40-inch flat-screen LED television, ensuite bathroom, high-speed Wi-Fi, fully-stocked non-alcoholic mini refreshment bar, coffee and tea making facilities, in-room electronic safe and 24-hour in-room dining. There are room types available for sea views, mountain views, a family room and a panoramic view suite on the corner of the hotel. The villas and villets would definitely get my vote, they are modern and elegant and offer direct access to the beach, the one-bedroom villas include a private jacuzzi and the balcony with the two-bedroom villa is simply huge!
Food & Drink
There really is something for everyone and for every mood with the exceptional range of dining options at the resort; whether you want relaxed al-fresco dining, seafood or an informal snack bar. Highlights include the newly styled al fresco Amwaj pool bar; already infamous for its panoramic views, light meals and mocktails, Bab Al Bahr Seafood Restaurant with a live cooking display kitchen. The main restaurant is named Al Murjan and offers buffet and a la carte dining with international cuisine, a live cooking station and excellent view of the ocean
