There are 4 Starwood hotels in Zurich where you can spend (and earn) SPG loyalty Starpoints. Atlantis By Giardino (pictured above), Sheraton Zurich Neues Schloss Hotel, Sheraton Zurich Hotel, Four Points By Sheraton Sihlcity.
I will be honest, I am a luxury traveller and the only hotel SPG hotel that I would choose to stay in from this selection is the luxury Atlantis By Giardino which I reviewed on a recent stay.
This hotel is on the edge of the city and has a resort feel but also a complimentary shuttle into the centre, which means you get all the benefits of staying in a resort whilst being moments from all the amenities of Zurich.
Advantages of this hotel are a beautiful outdoor pool, a wonderful indoor lap pool and Jacuzzi and spa, a 2-Michelin star restaurant, plus all the restaurants and bars offer wonderful balconies and views across Zurich. Rooms are immaculate and beautifully finished and frankly, at 20,000 SPG Starwood points a night, you are getting a bargain staying here on points. You can also collect Starpoints at this property.
The Sheraton Zurich Neues Schloss Hotel has mixed reviews and comes in at the same Starpoint price (20,000). In my humble opinion, there is no comparison, between the two properties. The luxury Atlantis By Giardino is vastly superior in every way (except perhaps convenience).
It is worth mentioning that you can transfer points between Starwood and Marriott on a 1:3 basis and so could also stay at the Zurich Marriott hotel for 40,000 Marriott Rewards but this is not a true luxury property either. I would always spend my Starpoints (or cash for that matter) at Atlantis By Giardino.
