Book A Stay

A break in the beautiful Cornish countryside is top of my staycation list; Cornwall has so many attractions to visit that it’s great for all the family, add to that; stunning rocky coves, that wonderful feeling of wilderness and the sheer peace and quiet and I’m sold. The perfect family accommodation in Cornwall has to be a luxury cottage; freedom and a home-from-home environment are ideal for a relaxing break. Tresarran Cottages are a blissful example of Cornish accommodation, they are set in stunning woodlands and gardens, with great facilities and a rustic Cornish feel.

Location

Tresarran Cottages are situated in South East Cornwall, just over a 4.5-hour drive from London. The seaside towns of Looe and Polperro are a short drive away and the nearest beach, the stunning Talland Bay, is just five miles away. In this area the Eden Project, the largest indoor rainforest in the world, is a must visit attraction.

Style & Character

The outdoor life is a huge part of the experience of staying here; the cottages are set in five acres of stunning woodland and gardens. This is a truly rural location and is so tranquil and calming that you’ll leave you day to day life behind very quickly. There’s lots of enjoy outside; relax on the sun loungers with a glass of Cornish cider in the gardens, a stroll along the river or play spot the wildlife; deer, hedgehogs, bats, heron and frogs among others. Inside the cottages are simply charming; rustic with a tinge of glam; they are clean, cosy with great facilities.

Service & Facilities

Your hosts are welcoming and friendly and are on site so are always on hand to provide some local knowledge. There is a large car park, a laundry room, complimentary Wi-Fi in all the cottages and a great selection of family board games and a DVD library to borrow from during your stay. The owners are dog lovers and your dog will be more than welcomed!

Rooms

There are 4 cottages; one with one bedroom, one with two bedrooms and sleeps three, and the other two with two bedrooms and sleep four. Each is unique with its own personality and style. Although they have been beautifully modernised, there are still many original features including; barn doors, wood burners and beamed ceilings. My favourite would probably be Shippen Cottage; traditionally stone built, it’s stunning from the outside and inside a stunning galleried living area, full height beamed ceilings and a log burner awaits.

Food & Drink

All the cottages have modern, fitted kitchens and are well-equipped for self-catering; with al-fresco dining in these surroundings it is very appealing. A local food box can be provided by your hosts for a small charge which is really helpful when you first arrive. If you fancy eating out, there are a great range of pubs and restaurants a 20-minute drive away at Liskeard. Or sample a traditional Cornish pub at The Plough Inn at Duloe, less than 10-minutes away or ask your hosts for more tips.
