Book A Hotel

This time of year, I’m pretty constantly focusing on improving my holiday wardrobe; looking great while travelling helps me feel great so it’s really important to me, and great fun too of course! I love discovering new summery brands and Nomads Clothing has really caught my eye; beautiful, original, feminine clothing that also carries the fair-trade label.

The range from Nomad Clothing is beautiful; think flowing fabrics, unique summery prints in comfortable shapes that are ideal for holiday time. Their Long Embroidered Kaftans are perfect to wear from the beach through to evening and the range of dresses are gorgeous; I’ve got my eye on the Duck Egg Floral Summer Dress for garden parties. It’s not just clothing either, they do a fabulous sarong, some fab slouchy bags, beaded sandals and jewellery.

Shopping consciously, with an ethical stance, has become huge business, which makes it totally on trend. People don’t just want to know where you got that latest outfit, but the story behind the brand and ultimately that it is indeed fair trade or organic. Nomad Clothing responds to this demand beautifully; their clothing is produced with input from Indian designers and the company travels to India several times a year to develop their collections. The clothing is primarily made using organic cotton, so it’s super soft against your skin, as well as being kind to the environment. They employ traditional manufacturing methods, so there’s a real story behind the production; tie dying by hand, use of a traditional handloom process, traditional embroidery and traditional hand block printing.

Nomads Clothing are based in Cornwall and have been in business since 1989. They started when their founders Duncan and Vicky met while backpacking around India in the late 1980s, they took home clothing and fabrics that they loved and the rest is history! The company are members of the Ethical Fashion Forum (EFF) and the British Association of Fair Trade Shops (BAFTS). A percentage of Nomads profits are used to support TAMWED, a non-profit charity based in south India.

With Nomads Clothing, caring for our planet has never looked so pretty and my summer travelling wardrobe is doing very nicely too!
