International Airlines Group is launching LEVEL – a new low cost, long-haul airline brand which will enable you to fly to Europe from €99 EUR (about $149 USD) one way.
LEVEL will become IAG’s fifth main airline brand alongside Aer Lingus, British Airways, Iberia, and Vueling. The carrier will take to the skies in June, with flights between Barcelona and Los Angeles, San Francisco (Oakland), Buenos Aires, and Punta Cana.
LEVEL will fly two new Airbus A330 aircraft fitted with 293 economy and 21 premium economy seats.
Economy will feature 30 inches of pitch with 9 inch screens at every seat and will be in a 2-4-2 configuration.
Premium economy will feature 37 inch of pitch with 12 inch screens, and seats will be in a 2-3-2 configuration (this is less pitch than the 46 inches in Norwegian’s premium class, which has 46 inches of pitch).
Initially, it will be operated by Iberia’s flight and cabin crew, and although Barcelona has been chosen as the launch city for IAG’s new operation, LEVEL will look to expand its flights from other lower-cost European cities.
Checked luggage (in addition to a free cabin bag), meals, seat selection, and the latest movie releases will be complimentary for customers flying in premium economy. Those traveling in economy will get free entertainment and a cabin bag but will need to pay for checked luggage, seat selection, Wi-Fi, and meals.
LEVEL’s customers will also be able to earn and redeem Avios. The cheapest Economy tickets will earn a measly 10% of the miles flown. Premium Economy tickets will earn at least 100% of the miles flown.
How Many Avios Do I Need To Spend To Fly To America On Level?
Barcelona to Los Angeles will cost 50,000 Avios + £175.20 GBP on launch. Premium Economy will cost 87,500 Avios + £175.20 GBP. These Avios flights can only be booked via Iberia Plus. They cannot yet be booked with Avios on the BA website.
Airline tickets went on sale yesterday for $149 USD each way. If you prefer to travel in luxury, you may want to read my review of best Business Class airlines to Europe.
