Moyyan House by the Sea
Vanuatu is made up of 80+ remote tropical islands in an archipelago in the Pacific. Retaining much of it’s natural habitat and being relatively undiscovered, this is a great destination for those who like to get away from the crowds. Travellers go to Vanuatu for the stunning waterfalls, deserted beaches, and rugged landscape. This is a place to dive reefs in the morning and scuba dive on Santo in the afternoon.
Review: Moyyan House by the Sea
Moyyan House by the Sea is an exclusive boutique hideaway on the island of Espiritu Santo, Vanuatu. It is reached via Pekoa International Airport and the hotel will pick you up and drop you back for free – if you can bare to leave!
Moyyan occupies the most idyllic location. The hotel sits right on the shoreline of the white sand beach and steps away from the sheltered tropical waters. Here the pace of life is leisurely, the soft white sands are bordered by ancient hardwood trees and the sea is warm. The gardens are a highlight and are abundant with tropical flowers and foliage. Decked pathways lead you between your room to the sumptuous day spa and the restaurant and bar.
Each of the six farés (rooms) invite guests to unwind in a space to call home. Ample decks are furnished with loungers and a hammock. This is a space that tempts you to read an extra page or share an extra drink as night falls.
You do not need to leave the resort, as you can eat in the onsite restaurant, drink in the onsite bar and relax at the Moyyan Day Spa which offers island massages or spa treatments with pure, botanical products.
If you do want to get out, the hotel is just 15 minutes’ drive from Luganville, which has a variety of shops and restaurants.
Beach activities at House by the Sea include clear bottom kayaks and stand up paddle boards which you can use to explore the reefs for coral and fish. Complimentary bikes are available to cycle around the island and it’s worth cycling to the blue holes where you can enjoy some magnificent snorkelling.
Fall asleep in a beachfront villa to the sound of soft waves lapping against the sand, there is no better way to relax.
