For a little taste of paradise, and being totally spoilt while you’re there, The St. Regis Punta Mita Resort in Mexico more than delivers. Offering unsurpassed luxury, but also valuing service highly; this is somewhere to come to feel nurtured when you just need to slow down a little and recuperate. Flights from London via Mexico City take about 16 hours with Aeromexico flying into Gustavo Diaz Ordaz International Airport and the hotel is only 30 minutes from the airport.
Hotel
Tucked away on one of the world’s most alluring beaches, this five-star luxury resort is surrounded by stunning tropical landscaped grounds that also house two Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Courses, tennis courts and three infinity pools. There is also the luxe Remède Spa and a choice of restaurants. This is the first St. Regis property in all of Latin America but we doubt it’ll be the last if this one is anything to go by! The service is truly outstanding; they pride themselves on it and go above and beyond to ensure that it stands out and is memorable; our favourite approach has to be the ability to send your butler a quick iMessage or email for an instant response – 24-hour attention at your fingertips.
Rooms
There are 120 rooms, suites and villas to choose from. All offer either ocean or garden views, a private terrace with an outdoor shower and all the usual amenities including a spacious bathroom, flat screen TV, Wi-Fi, minibar, robe and slippers, etc. The Luxury One and Two-Bedroom Villas would get our vote as they are directly on the beach and include a private pool and jacuzzi as well as a kitchen. Not only is the beach location enviable, but the private pool has to be the perfect place to unwind at the end of the day.
Restaurants & Bars
You can have a lot of fun sampling all the restaurants and bars at St. Regis Punta Mita Resort and we would definitely recommend that you give it a try! The Sea Breeze Restaurant and Bar offers casual dining beach club-style with seating available inside and out. For alfresco family dining in a fun environment serving Mexican specialities, try Las Marietas Restaurant and Bar. At least one evening, you simply must pay a visit to Carolina, the signature restaurant which offers fine dining and modern Mexican cuisine. A rather fabulous bar and bistro complete the list but we’ll leave a few of the details for you to discover yourself!
Pool & Activities
There are three pools, all are infinity pools and offer something quite unique; be it a beach-side location, a family-friendly approach or the exact opposite – an adults-only pool; take your pick. There’s even variety in the beaches too! A quiet adults-only area offers some peace and quiet or for adrenaline overload why not try the main beach and partake in some water-sports. There are a whole host of activities to enjoy and keep you entertained at the resort itself; they like to spoil the kids (which helps, as you get a break this way too!) and the kids club is very appealing; cocktail classes, bike tours, Salsa lessons are just some of the activities on offer for the grown-ups! After all the action, a trip to the Remède Spa is the least you can do for yourself; the personal service of course extends here too and while the facilities (which include cabana-style relaxation gardens, a sauna, steam room, fitness centre, salon, Jacuzzi and cold plunge pools) are exceptional, the treatments and therapies are where the indulgence really begins. If you wish to venture outside of the resort you will find that you are well placed to explore the surrounding seaside villages, as well as the nearby stunning Islas Marietas National Park; trips and expeditions can be arranged as you desire.

Don’t miss the St Regis rituals; their own special Bloody Mary before breakfast and afternoon tea on Tuesdays and Saturdays – yet another example of the fabulous attention to service.
