For a really romantic break away in the glorious, wild Irish countryside, Coolmore Manor House Apartment offers the perfect luxurious home-away-from-home for two. The apartment can be reached in just 3 hours from Dublin Airport and 2.5 hours from Belfast Airport, flight times from London are both just over an hour. It is worth hiring a car and cars can be hired at both airports; although a lot of the local area can be explored on foot from the apartment, you are in a beautifully rural setting and a car is very useful.
The apartment has been very beautifully and luxuriously decorated, it’s well equipped and at 57m2, is spacious for a one bed property. This is a comfortable, elegant home that you can really relax in and make your own for the week. The ocean views it presents are truly spectacular and there’s surely nothing more romantic than watching the sun set over the Irish coastline with your nearest and dearest snuggled up in the outside seating area. All expected mod cons are available, including underfloor heating and a flatscreen TV with DVD player. The apartment is on the ground floor of the Coach House and there are no stairs so the property is accessible to all. The neighbouring Manor House which sleeps 6, can be combined with the apartment and rented together if you fancy some company!
There is one double bed that is extra comfortable, with its two separate box spring mattresses and beautiful eiderdown coverings – perfect for lay-in’s. The modern bathroom includes both a bathtub and a walk in shower.
The kitchen is small but is ideal for basic self-catering and is well stocked with a dishwasher, Nespresso coffee machine, induction hob and a built-in stove. But on every romantic break away meals out are in a must in my book! There is a local pub, the Smugglers’ Creek Inn which is definitely worth a visit as it serves delicious Irish food. And of course, you are in Ireland so you are really spoilt for choice for interesting traditional pubs serving steaming, heaving plates of delicious-ness!
The gorgeous Irish coastline and countryside surrounds you and is just begging to be explored. Rossnowlagh Beach, a gorgeous Blue flag beach, is just 5 minutes’ walk away and a 5 minute drive brings you to Murvagh, a long, sheltered sandy beach which is ideal for a swim. The Wild Atlantic Way is perfect for hiking and cycling and it’s said that you can walk for hours without encountering another soul – pure romance! There are many local towns and craft villages to explore; the historic Donegal Town is just 15 minutes away and the vibrant town of Ballyshannon, the oldest town in Ireland, is just a 7 minute drive or a rather exceptional hike along Creevy Walk. For more active pursuits; biking, surfing, wind and kite surfing, scuba diving and canoeing are all available locally. The Blue Stack Mountains are worth a visit as are the spectacular Slieve League; the highest sea-cliffs in Europe. The owners also breed a small number of quality Show Jumping Horses every year and horse therapy is available for people nervous of horses. A range of massages are also available on site for all your aches or if you simply to unwind and relax.
For a chance to catch up with your loved one and get back to nature, the rural beauty of the Irish countryside is the perfect location and Coolmore Manor House Apartment is a really lovely setting to base yourselves.
