Book A Stay

For your next great British escape, why not explore the beautiful countryside in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds? Within the pretty market town of Charlbury, you will find a home from home; The Bull Inn. An intimate country pub with rooms, great pub food, and excellent service. Although by car the pub can be reached in only an hour and a half, it’s the train option that often appeals to its guests – with a journey time of just over an hour and a quarter from Paddington Station, you barely have time to finish your coffee on the train, and you’re there! The pub is then an easy walk from Charlbury station.

Style & Character

The Bull Inn is billed as your home away from home, and they do everything possible to fulfill this promise. There is a cozy, intimate atmosphere, roaring fires, and huge inviting beds. The service is exceptional, friendly, and welcoming, with real attention to detail. The Inn has recently undergone a renovation; the resulting decor is classic and charming with a fun twist; funky patterns sit alongside more traditional artwork with quirky accessories and enormous roll-top baths. Outside, a grapevine-covered terrace provides outdoor seating and a horsebox outdoor bar. There is free outdoor parking available, and they are dog friendly.

Service & Facilities

The location here is fantastic, you are only about 6 miles north of Witney in West Oxfordshire, and there’s Oxford itself if you wish to venture a little further. It is on the edge of Wychwood Forest, and the Cotswolds is on your doorstep, where walking, hiking, cycling, and horse riding are popular pursuits. There’s more than enough to do to pack a long weekend away.

Rooms

The pub has four bedrooms, with another 4 in the adjacent Bull Barn. All rooms include 32 inche Flat Screen TV, free Wi-Fi, massive hand-stitched beds, the best linens, and Neil’s Yard products in your en-suite. What’s more, breakfast is included.

Food & Drink

The seasonal menu offers those tremendous British pub classics such as pie of the day and fish & chips, but also has a more adventurous flair; they are proud of their chef, and you can taste why! The food here is a real highlight, so eat here during your stay.

The Bull Burger is somewhat legendary and comes very highly recommended!

Conclusion

The character shines through at the Bull Inn, reaching everything from the interiors to the food to the service – everything you need for an indulgent escape in the great British countryside.
