It’s that time of year again girls – time to brush off the gym membership and get your bod ready for the lycra loveliness you’ll be rocking poolside on your summer breaks.
Last year the tiny one-piece was the only swimwear to be seen in. This year skimpy is still in vogue, with most contemporary brands offering bikini bottoms as cheeky as you dare. Major new style additions for 2016 are butterfly seams, jewellery embellishments and cutouts everywhere.
2015 was the year for break through swimwear brands, innovative cuts and funky fabrics. In 2016 things have calmed down just a bit, but there’s still some fab new bikinis and swimsuits to pull on.
Triangl came out punching at the start of 2016 with a lovely new collection in their obligatory neoprene. Next up was Beach Riot, whose Poppy swimsuit, (a colab with Stone Cold Fox), is one of this years must have pieces. Maryne Basso showed everybody how to style classic cuts, whilst two of my favourite brands Gregor Pirouzi and the divine Sumarie, (pictured above) both had collections full of beautiful pieces.
