Mark and Lisa Hammerton are living the dream. They split their lives between Kent and Barbados and share their extensive knowledge of this wonderful Caribbean island to arrange holidays in paradise. Mark and Lisa set up their business as a result of their love for Barbados but also with the professional belief that the market was poorly served by generalist operators who didn’t know the destination well. They now use their knowledge to arrange personalised villa or apartment holidays under the Barbadian sun.
Barbados Villa Review: Footprints
This is a newly built, WOW villa, right on the beach, adjacent to Ju-Ju’s bar and a stroll up the beach to The Lone Star restaurant. The interior design is by Kelly Hoppen and it is really very striking.
Set on Alleynes Bay Beach on the island’s west-facing Platinum Coast, the 5 bedroom villa is boxy in the best way, with several stories of balconies, terraces and floor-to-ceiling windows that open to the water. With 5 bedrooms and 5 ½ bathrooms, Footprints features approximately 6,500 sq. ft. of covered living space, including a 1,300 sq. ft. elevated master suite with uninterrupted views out to the horizon. Footprints sets the standard for a new breed of sleek, modern yet relaxed island living that will appeal to visitors looking for a cool and relaxed island vibe.
The villa’s interiors are finished in a neutral palette of white and tan, creating a soothing atmosphere that emphasises the vibrant greens and blues of the surrounding trees and water. The 5 bedrooms at Footprints feature en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning. Many open to balconies or terraces, so you can fall asleep to the sound of the ocean or feel the breeze first thing in the morning. The villa even has its own fitness and media rooms which are air conditioned for your comfort, and the services of a chef, butler housekeeper and laundress are included in your stay.
Though the villa is located on Alleynes Bay Beach and is just a short stroll to the Lone Star restaurant, it is just 1 mile from the beach at Reeds Bay and 2 miles from Sandy Lane Beach. Golfers will also want to book a tee time at the nearby Royal Westmoreland Golf Course and the Sandy Lane Country Club course.
Barbados Villa Review: Windward
This is a prestigious property on the Sandy Lane estate with access to the Sandy Lane beach (and restaurants). Windward villa is set in the heart of the exclusive Sandy Lane Estate, St James on the West Coast of Barbados, about 5 minutes from Holetown and about 45 minutes from the airport. The main living area is open plan, with French doors extending the length of the room which, when open to the spacious covered veranda, creates an expansive space for combined indoor/outdoor entertaining. Steps from the main veranda lead out to the garden and pool via a Lotus and Koi water feature. The media room is air-conditioned and features a multimedia 50” Smart TV with surround sound, two comfortable sofas and a desk.
The stunning Master Suite on the upper floor features a study, large air-conditioned bedroom with king size bed, full length patio accessible through french doors, dressing area and bathroom with a double vanity, bath and shower set in floor-to-ceiling marble. Two other bedroom suites are located upstairs and on the ground floor, the garden bedroom suite has french doors to a private patio with direct access to the gardens and pool deck. The gym is air-conditioned and fully equipped with professional standard equipment including cardio and weight machines. Windward includes a full staff of a cook, housekeeper, laundress, nightly security guard, gardener, pool service, personal villa manager and a concierge service to organise and book any activities or excursions and the staff will prepare three meals daily.
Hammerton Barbados offer a choice of over 100 villas and apartments on the famous West Coast of Barbados, all visited in person and described with honesty. Not all properties are ideal for children for example and a short walk to the beach can feel much longer if it’s up hill all the way. They discuss villas openly and will match the right property to your requirements. Crucially, Mark and Lisa Hammerton will help guide your villa choice with a personal touch, working out what is best for you.
From beachside pads to prestige addresses, whatever your budget, Hammerton Barbados will help to make your trip to Barbados that little bit closer to perfection.
