Simple, modern and elegant, Donna’s original handmade jewellery and gifts add a little bit of luxury to your everyday look and home. From sterling silver cufflinks and precious gem pendants to unique jewellery pieces and bespoke Silver keepsake boxes, Donna McPherson Couture Jewellery offers unique pieces for everyone. And her most popular item comes in the form of her cocktail stirrers, inspired by her three beloved cats Oscar, Oliver & Penny.
“As a cat lover, I wanted to create something that other cat fans would enjoy & cherish. Oscar, Oliver & Penny, my three rag doll cats, are always playing around in my workshop and when they aren’t pestering me for attention, they can sometimes inspire me. I love cats as I know many other people do so I wanted to combine my two passions – my cats and my jewellery – and create something personal to them and my fellow cat lovers. Hence my Oscar and Oliver cocktail stirrers were born! Crafted from sterling silver and perfect for any social gathering, these unique cocktail stirrers make a great statement piece and an even better accompaniment to your cocktail pitcher!”
So who are Oscar, Oliver & Penny? Well you just have to check out the DMC Twitter page to see how popular these three jewellery artisans are. When they aren’t exploring the Harrogate hills or being pampered at the cat parlour (yes it is a real place), these beloved felines are a constant fixture in Donna’s workshop and can be seen ‘helping’ Donna create her beautiful Cocktail Stirrers and other bespoke commission pieces.
Coming from a corporate world, Donna fell in love with the peace and tranquillity that jewellery making offered her. After finding that she had a unique eye for all things fine silver, she took the leap and founded Donna McPherson Couture Jewellery in 2014. Two years later, her collection is continually expanding, sales are booming, and her bespoke jewellery commission service continues to be popular. So what’s next for Donna, Oscar, Oliver & Penny?
“These past two years have been amazing and the feedback I receive when it comes to my jewellery pieces really is inspiring. But now I want to help others realise how interesting jewellery making can be and encourage others to follow their passion like I did. So from May, I will be offering Silver Clay Jewellery courses when people of all abilities, novices and experts alike, can come and make beautiful clay jewellery.”
And as for Oscar, Oliver & Penny, well we will have to keep an eye on her Twitter page to find out what these two felines will get up to next!
