Sumarie’s new Spring Summer 2016 collection, as well as pictures of their new Sport Luxe range just reached the inbox of yours truly, making me one very excited swimwear addict.
The SS’16 offering from London based Sumarie is entitled, the AQUA Iceland collection. It features wonderfully cut pieces, crafted in fabulous materials. But in a departure for the brand, prints are used to style many of the key items, such as the Ion bikini sets and leggings. All the prints are designed by the labels founder and creative force Marie Su, inspired by Iceland’s natural waters, and blacks and stone colours, reflective of the island’s rugged terrain.
This is a collection of two halves ‘Sport Luxe’ and ‘Spa / Resort’. Sport Luxe with its sports bra style bikinis and leggings for when you are feeling active vs. Spa / Resort’s plunging swimsuits and string bikinis for when you’re simply dipping your toe in the pool enjoying a cocktail.
Flicking through the pictures my eyes were drawn to the Iceland print swimsuit and accompanying bikini, the latter featuring this seasons must have cut out bottoms. Both are examples of how Marie Su has combined her new prints with Sumarie’s distinctive sophistication.
The Zig Zag bikini is a personal hi-light. The high waist bottoms not too high and the legs cut just high enough to be a bit cheeky, love it. The Blue Lagoon swimsuit is a must have, pastel blue with deep plunging neck line and a contrasting belt. The brands best selling fringe, string bikini also gets a new twist in the form on the Aqua Fringe. How’s a girls to choose?
