Location

Built in the exclusive beach resort of St Julian’s in 2003 and a stone’s throw from the capital Valletta, this hotel is the perfect place to stay if you’re looking for a relaxing break in the Maltese sunshine. British Airways, Air Malta, and EasyJet offer flights to Valletta from Gatwick, while Air Malta also operates out of Heathrow. The hotel is located just 7 km from Valletta.

Style & Character

With both indoor and outdoor pools, a private beach, a spa, and a choice of six restaurants, InterContinental Malta has everything you could wish for to add that extra touch of luxury to your stay. The staff are friendly and accommodating, and the location is ideal for exploring shops and restaurants and the culture and rich history Malta has to offer.

Rooms

The InterContinental Malta offers a choice of classic rooms, executive rooms, and suites, all boasting modern, elegant interiors. Classic rooms are 30 m² in size and have king or queen-sized beds, private balconies, and spacious bathrooms with separate showers. All rooms have air conditioning, a coffee maker, a mini bar and refrigerator, daily maid service, and cable/satellite TV. Room Tip – Ask for a room with a garden view. Those overlooking Bay Street tend to be noisier.

Service & Facilities

In addition to the large, lagoon-style outdoor pool and private sandy beach, guests can enjoy an indoor pool and a spa offering a comprehensive list of treatments, including Thai and Balinese massage, hot stone massage and detoxifying and nourishing body treatments. There is also a sauna, steam room, and beauty treatments such as manicures, pedicures and waxing. Outside the hotel, there are good public transport links to the fascinating capital city of Valletta, while some of the island’s finest shopping and entertainment highlights are within walking distance.

Food & Drink

With six restaurants and six bars to choose from, there’s plenty of variety when it comes to dining at InterContinental Malta. Open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Waterbiscuit Restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine and innovative cocktails in a striking, contemporary setting, while Paranga offers fresh fish and seafood with seaside views. Located next to the outdoor pool, Narcis Pool Bar and Grill and is a great place to enjoy a leisurely lunch or cocktail while gazing out at the Mediterranean sea. To relax with a drink at any time of day, the Waterbiscuit Lounge Bar offers the ideal environment.

Conclusion

If you’re after the most luxurious experience you can get, be sure to ask for a room in the newly renovated part of the hotel. Whether you want to explore the island or simply relax in the sunshine, the InterContinental is a great choice of hotel for a stay in Malta.
